My sister and I have not had Christmas together and probably 30 years. I looked at all the restaurants in Humboldt County as I wanted our Christmas Eve dinner to be special. The waitress was super nice. I decided to order the prime rib and my sister ordered the scallops and we were going to split. The prime rib was so tough that I could hardly cut it in half to give her peace. As I began to eat my prime rib it was so tough I could barely chew it and definitely could not swallow it. I tried a couple of bites, and it just was not good. I let the waitress know and the owner came over, now this is really what surprised me. She sent out another slice which was not medium rare it was more medium, I don't like my meat cooked medium and if I'm paying $45 or something I want. That meat was also very very tough, the waitress then came back and said that she would have to ask the owner if she would remove the meal. To my surprise, I've been in the restaurant business and frequent restaurants all the time she charged me for a side of rice and a vegetable. What the hell? What kind of customer service is that? The cost for her was maybe 50 cents for some over cooked Zucchini and lukewarm rice. I could have picked any restaurant, and I choose to come to this one. Was it so important that you make $5.00? I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I was so disappointed in the meal. FYI the scallops were also very smail. DO BETTER!

We enjoyed the complimentary chowder, and the fried calamari and mushrooms were all good. The seafood fettuccine, however, had more sauce than I prefer. We also noticed afterward that, even though we had a dinner reservation, we were seated on the bar side of the restaurant, next to the staff service door, which has a bit different vibe from the other any area.

This is a fine restaurant, not fancy but fine. Family oriented. Happy staff. My guess: all meals will be B-plus to A-minus, nothing extraordinary but more than satisfactory. We were glad we went.

Had a wonderful dinner here with my husband after we eloped in the redwoods. Comfortable atmosphere, food and drinks were excellent, and service was fast and friendly. Although we were strangers passing through town, Samuel made us feel so welcome and even surprised us with dessert to celebrate our special day. Would absolutely come back to the Sea Grill!

This has been the best restaurant I’ve eaten at for quite some time. Good service. Good atmosphere. Perfect amount of options in the menu. Decadence is an understatement. The food was superb and was reasonably priced.

We chose to eat on the bar side of this restaurant as the main room had families in it, with small children who were ‘enjoying’ themselves. It was a good choice as we got Samuel as our server who was excellent in suggesting dishes and wine. I cannot recall what was ordered but we are both seafood lovers, so that would probably have been our choices. I know that we enjoyed the food and the whole experience. I would be very happy to eat there again.
