My sister and I have not had Christmas together and probably 30 years. I looked at all the restaurants in Humboldt County as I wanted our Christmas Eve dinner to be special. The waitress was super nice. I decided to order the prime rib and my sister ordered the scallops and we were going to split. The prime rib was so tough that I could hardly cut it in half to give her peace. As I began to eat my prime rib it was so tough I could barely chew it and definitely could not swallow...
We enjoyed the complimentary chowder, and the fried calamari and mushrooms were all good. The seafood fettuccine, however, had more sauce than I prefer. We also noticed afterward that, even though we had a dinner reservation, we were seated on the bar side of the restaurant, next to the staff service door, which has a bit different vibe from the other any area.
This is a fine restaurant, not fancy but fine. Family oriented. Happy staff. My guess: all meals will be B-plus to A-minus, nothing extraordinary but more than satisfactory. We were glad we went.
