Fair Oaks Coffee House & Deli

I walked into this deli and immediately questioned every life choice that had led me to this moment. The atmosphere felt like a witness protection safe house designed by someone who actively dislikes joy. The lighting was dim in a way that suggested either ambiance or a failing electrical system — I’m leaning toward the latter. I ordered a sandwich, a simple request… or so I thought. What arrived was a structural disaster held together by despair and whatever condiment they claimed was mayo. The bread had the texture of a yoga mat that had seen things. The lettuce was so wilted it needed emotional support. The turkey was sliced so thin I’m convinced it was spiritually absent. The pickles? They tasted like they had beef with me personally. The soda machine dispensed what I can only describe as “carbonated regret.” Even the napkins felt tired. To top it off, the staff moved with the enthusiasm of people who had just learned that happiness is illegal. I asked for extra mustard and received exactly one atom of it, which I assume was accidental. Long story short: this deli was not merely bad — it was a character-building experience. I left older, sadder, and somehow hungry.

The food was fantastic, the staff was so friendly and the vibe of the place was immaculate. New favorite spot!

It was DIRTY! I mean really dirty. There are staff there, but they never seem to come out and empty trash bins, wipe down tables, or pick up trash. I realize this is partly due to bad customers leaving their trash in a place where it's pretty much self service. But staff should be cleaning and checking as well. Also, the food was meh. Not that great, kind of boring, WAY overpriced for what it was. You could get the same thing at a Safeway deli for $5.00 less. The last part that really set my teeth on edge - we saw a rat in broad day light. Which usually means there is an infestation somewhere. The chickens were cool, but there is a whole bench area covered in chicken poop that they should really clean off because it's in the seating area, and while I know rats are attracted to chicken coops because of the food source, I feel like they should be trying to mitigate that as much as possible. I know one of the employees saw the rat as well. Not much she can do about it. But I hope the owners shift toward a more cleanliness focused mind set. Staff cleaning tables and getting trash taken out more frequently could help some. Personally, it's a cute cafe but I will not be going back.

I was there for open mic had a lot of fun performing with my guitar thay also have pastries and coffee dark roast is my favorite coffee. Fantastic host and a great sound guy.

A favorite Sunday coffee spot

The turkey panini sandwich was spectacular! However, $15 for a sandwich is a bit extravagant. And it’s just a sandwich, no sides, no add on’s. And no drink. So you decide, is it worth it?????

I went in there yesterday for the first tiime and it was Amazing. I got the turkey panini and i was sad when it was done. Every bite was delicious and i was very happy when i left. I had to come back again today for breakfast and got the veg breakfast burrito and once again all i can say was OH MY! 😋 I will be a regular here from now on. I must say go and try it you wont be dissapointed. I love it!!!
