Beer Brat with pretzel bun was fantastic! Inside was very smoky and full even at 2 pm so I had to sit outside. The beer selection is not German. Expect an offering of local craft beers.
Came after a Family hike at Deer Park. Husband had vegan dog as usual and 13-year-old had Italian sausage on a pretzel bun. The soup was devine and they devoured their sausages. My son had a root beer from Wisconsin that was made with honey, husband had a Pilsner, as usual, and he surprised me with a delicious nectarine cider. We have been going here for 10 years usually after a hike or just walking down from San Anselmo Hills. Always fun, loud up the music and boisterous conversation....read full review

This will forever be one of the places we miss most after moving away from San Anselmo/Fairfax. Whether we were finishing a long hike on Mt Tam, a short dog walk, or just need a pint to take the edge off, this was one of our go to spots. We spent countless hours here and think of it often. It's exactly the type of watering hole everyone needs - no pretentiousness, just a nice cold beer, a brat, and a fun crowd. If you haven't checked out Gestalt Haus, you're missing out.
