We were headed for Ojai this afternoon but a roadblock through the hills changed our plans. We checked out Santa Paula but nothing really stood out, so we headed towards Filmore and discovered Los Altos Mexican Restaurant - a hidden gem on Santa Clara Street. We really enjoyed our lunch with our patio seating and delicious food and margaritas. We highly recommend this restaurant and are glad our adventure led us to this terrific place!
If you’re looking for real, comforting, soul-warming Mexican food in Fillmore, this spot is hands-down the best I’ve found so far. The menudo? On another level. Seriously — rich flavor, perfect texture, and that homemade taste you only get when someone truly knows what they’re doing in the kitchen. And the michelada… there are no words. Just amazing. Stopped for some burritos before our road trip. Staff was friendly, restaurant is supper clean and food was delicious. We are definitely coming back soon.
