I give it a 2.5 rating. But I encourage people to support local family businesses; especially these small ones in our rural communities. Their food was average, but not comparable to the three Don Pepe's Taquerias in Fresno; I understand they are cousins and manage their businesses separately.Their tacos and meats were too dry/overcooked and hard to taste...nothing like the Fresno Don Pepe's Tacos. My Favorite place to Mexican food in Firebaugh. Their Menudo is the Best and they give you the option of with or without hominy. Rice and beans are so good. Their shrimp whether it be the botana or tacos or al mojo de ajo is The Best shrimp from any restaurant. I also love to eat their tortas de Chile verde. I highly recommend eating at Taqueria Don Pepe's if you're looking for good Mexican food in Firebaugh.

Amazing Carne Asada tacos. An unexpected detour off the I5 took us by here. Decor hasn't changed since probably 1973. Family run business- many aunties sitting at the counter. Large bean, rice and cheese burritos were very authentic with fresh refried pinto beans. Great stop for lost travelers
