I specifically dropped in over the weekend for the prime rib special. I was hankering for prime rib. I know… BJs ain’t a steakhouse. So how good is the prime rib? Well, it was not bad at all. It was tasty with simple, classic flavors. It wasn’t amazing, earth shattering delicious nor awful.BJ only offers prime rib on Fridays and Saturdays after 4 pm and all day on Sunday. For $35, you get a 15 oz cut with soup or salad, two sides and a pizookie. I ordered the meat cooked medium rare with a green salad and sides of a baked potato and pencil asparagus. The green salad was a larger than expected serving size. It looked and tasted fresh. The meat came out cooked a perfect medium rare. It was super tender. Simple, tasty classic flavors. Keeping it old school and simple. The au jus and creamy horseradish could have been jazzed up a bit more as well. I had to remind myself to save room for dessert. I ordered the brownie sundae pizookie. Warm brownie pizookie topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Mmm. It was gorgeous. Decadently delicious… sugar overload! That brownie was darn good.Hubs had a mini pepperoni pizza. It was pan baked, giving it a buttery flaky crust. He enjoyed it. But complained about the size and price. It was kids size (not from the kids menu) and was priced close to $16.Our server was Lucas, he was an outstanding server. Great attitude and very on point. He was training another server, Jordan. They both were great. But overall, the restaurant was understaffed and unable to seat everyone right away even though there was ample seating. So that’s great that they are training more staff.

Booked days in advanced and still over booked! After an hour wait we were finally seated. An hour later and food was served pretty good except we still had to ask for things and the “ steamed” veggies were raw.

Folsom location always has missing items in delivery. My ice cream was missing. I also specifically requested utensils and they were not delivered as well. The asparagus that I paid almost $6 for was under cooked and the stalks were old and tough.

We surprised the manager with a reservation, 40 mis prior to prior to our arrival, for 18 people coming from graduation. Then we showed up with 6 children we forgot to count. Plus, another family showed up from the same graduation right behind us with a party of 11. He told us that he had our server coming in about 30 mins after we got there, but seated us and had waters brought out. Our server, Robin, showed up early and got right to work taking our orders and even accommodated my husband and I, who had to leave early, with getting our food ordered with the drinks, so we could eat and run. The food was rough on par and can't say enough for the way the staff accommodated us so well. Thank you.
