Quality has gone downhill since new owners. Food is tasteless now.
This place is always consistently excellent. We went to the all you can eat at lunch yesterday again. The service is outstanding and the quality of the food was great. It always smells so clean when we go in there! That is important to me. All of our fish favorites are on these rolls for all you can eat. We always finish with the fried bananas which are included. So good.
Food was good. Service was excellent. The prices are very reasonable. It's a family friendly restaurant. It was very calm and quiet.
WOW, What a find!!! Just minutes from my home and I have never realized such a great sushi restaurant existed. Our regular sushi joint has just changed ownership so we were looking for a new high quality sushi experience so we went to google. Found this place and tried 4 rolls an appetizer and a hand roll. ALL were wonderful. So much to choose from that I have my next two rolls decided on and a few more appetizers as well. We're excited to go back again and look forward to this becoming our new go-to place.
Excellent variety on their menu. Food tastes great and was super fresh. Definitely going to eat here again.
I have been coming to Hisui since 2018 and the quality and variety for the all you can eat was great at a good price. They are cutting corners like portion of fish, more rice and crab. They think they can cut corners and still charge the same price as your competitors while they’re not cutting corners is ridiculous The service is not good anymore. I just went to Umi in Roseville and paid the same price for more variety and better cuts of fish. Hisui used to have eel and smoked salmon and they have removed it due to “costs” yet they still increase the price of AYCE. If you want good AYCE go to Umi or Raku. Never coming here again.
We’ve been coming here regularly since they first opened in 2016. Things have been going downhill in the past year. Unfortunately tonight will be our last.
Very poor service. It was only half full and took 45 mins before any food arrived.
One of the rolls had tuna that was brown and leathery. I’ve never sent a roll back but something was not right. The manager was initially reluctant to take the roll off the bill saying it was normal. If that was normal then I can’t ever go back 🤮
I’ve been here probably 20-30 times over the past year. The people are very friendly. It’s almost always a great experience overall, if not a bit costly.
However, they must’ve used poor quality fish the last time I visited, as I got food poisoning almost immediately after leaving the restaurant. This was after an empty stomach, so there’s no doubt it was this place.
Bomb definitely my go to sushi spot seeming I just moved to folsom !
Honestly the best sushi place around.
Restaurantji Recommends
This is my new favorite sushi restaurant. The quality of seafood is very high. The fish is like butter! Every time I’ve eaten here it’s been great and the service is fast and friendly. I love that it’s still a fairly calm place to eat and I can enjoy my meal and time. I’ve done both the all you can eat (AYCE) and regular.
The place is nice & the people but the quality of food was not good. This is by far the worst sushi place I have been too. I would not recommend to anyone if someone asked for a good sushi spot.
The only good thing I enjoyed was my Gyoza & sprite. The steak teriyaki lacked seasoning
The sushi was not the best quality.
The food is always delicious and comes out quickly. Service is great. They are all so nice. Great place to go.
Sat down for 15 min on a Tuesday, no one came to greet us or said a word. Ended up walking out. Least you can do is have someone acknowledge a table that doesn’t have anything and say “hey we’re busy someone will be right with you”
Servers walked passed table numerous times. Time to get some better employees.
For being such an expensive place you would think they would have higher standards for hygiene, making the wasabi outside of the restaurant on top of a bucket on the ground is not what I would expect for somewhere charging $20 per roll of sushi.
