This is THE Ramen restaurant for my son and me. When friends want Ramen, this is where I tell them to go. The noodles are a superb texture. My son liked the original gyu-tonkotsu. I tried the chashu tsukemen and that is now my favorite. The broth was so scrumptious that I wanted to dip myself in it. The son finished the meal with a melon soda float. We were stuffed!!! Can't wait to go back for more.

This place was crazy good! For context,In 2018, I fell in love with the Izakaya concept for the simple fact that people, food, drinks & laughs are what is to be expected from an Izakaya. This was the 3rd Izakaya I had visited and did not know what to expect. But here are my genuine and respectful thoughts.I think the design and decore is perfect! Whoever designed this place did an amazing job! The one thing I would suggest is to add warmer lighting & lower the light level as it needs to be darker. This will make the restaurant look and feel inviting. The lights are placed and angled in a way that causes an overcast on the guests and is a bit straining. The drink menu was great! Classic Japanese whiskey with some fun cocktails! When the drinks came out I could tell there was care and thought out into the menu which made me excited for the food. The food was sooooooooo good! I really enjoyed the Izakaya menu selection and the Ramen. Also take notice of the skewer selection, it’s great! I was curious whether the grill they used was fueled by Binchotan or not. But great yakatori selection.

Made a reservation and had seating 30 mins early. Could barely hear the staff over the peppy music choice but the establishment was also at peak hours. Service was great, checked in constantly and were patient when speaking over the music, making sure we heard what was said. The food was better seasoned this time, previously when we went the seasoning was harsher but this time it's perfect. You do have to scan a qr code to see the menu and its not the friendliest user interface but there is a variety of options and servers are willing to explain and clarify questions.

Kin Izakaya at Fountain Valley, a modern Japanese fusion restaurant for all seasons ! Delicious food, great cocktail, and excellent service ! You can order to-go too. This time, I tried steak tartare, unagi (eel) yakitori with sushi rice as side dish, oh sooo yummy !

Long wait time. It was difficult to get the server's attention. The only good thing about this is that the food was delicious.

For an izakaya, this place didn’t really seem like one. Mostly the atmosphere was wrong, with loud music, dimmed lights and digital menu. We got ramen, fried calamari, and one izakaya item. The tonkotsu ramen had decent flavor, but didn’t come with a soft boiled egg, which is new to me. The calamari was good but quite oily. Overall, it’s mediocre for food, and not really izakaya for atmosphere. Digital menu is also a let down. Probably wouldn’t come back.

The food was very tasty and beautifully plated. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice but it was extremely loud and packed. Because it was a Friday night and very busy, the food took a while and it was hard to get a server's attention but they all seemed to be working hard and trying their best to attend to every table.

My kind of restaurant ! Excellent food, diverse menu, great service, good value, and modern ambiance! Kudos to Goma Fashioned cocktail (Wow!), Aguachile Hamachi, Truffle Uni & Wagyu, Miso Salmon & crab, Hokkaido Scallop Crudo, Miso Black Cod, and Yakitori ! Kin Izakaya is now my favorite and I will be back to try all their dishes, Ramen, and drinks. Make reservations since it is packed very fast and the wait line is long.

Dinner was delicious. But wish the server told us the speed and order the food items were going to come out. Restaurant was super cold with air conditioners blasting. So when our cold and hot food came out simultaneously; we had to rush with hot food first.

Very delicious appetizers! The fries were spot on, the chicken wings were perfectly cooked! The fried rice was well cooked, but could have used a little more flavor, the original gyu ramen was a solid 4 star, broth was good, the chashu was tasty, the egg was a whole soft boiled add-on. I did appreciate their steaming hot sake!Vegetarian options: Made to orderDietary restrictions: Made to orderParking: Large parking lot but shopping center is usually busyKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes, Ground floor, no steps

Good satisfying ramen shop food with a twist of fusion. Tsukemen and ramen were delicious for lunch. Takoyaki was also tasty. Not your traditional izakaya but enjoyable.

Overall food was excellent. Service was great but we showed up 18 mins late of our reservation. I understand they have a 15 min grace period, however in the beginning when I checked in they seemed make it a deal I was late and they skipped my reservation regardless I gave them a call that I am running late. Luckily another person came and said they can seat us. I'd like to say service was good but one of the host made it seem like being late was a big no no. Let's be real. This is SoCal, we drive from various parts such as LA to OC and vice versa to dine here and yes there is always unexpected traffic. I been to other dining establishments where they understand and did not make customers bad for being late. Other than that the waitress was great and the food was delicious. Just don't be late or they'll scold you.

Ramen is good! I really enjoyed their sushi options, but was a little disappointed to see it isn't offered during the day time.
