I swung by this place for some takeout. The kaisendon was on point, no doubt. Fresh sashimi that hit the spot. But their suggestion to mix the halibut bone broth with rice after the sashimi didn't really do it for me. It was meh. The set maki was a huge disappointment. It tasted like grocery store sushi. Not what I expected from a place hyping itself as top-notch. Also, they packed in these little packets of low quality ginger and wasabi. For a joint that claims to be a "premier destination", I was expecting the real deal, not something I could pick up with grocery store-bought sushi.

Definitely a MUST TRY for hand roll lovers!!! Everything we tried was SO good! We got the 7 roll set and it was yummy. Also tried their uni handroll, and salmon and toro maki rolls, crispy tuna, garlic edamame, and miso soup and washed it all down with some ube beer. Everything was perfect. The service was also exceptional. Great service from Annie who can sell ice to Eskimos. Really sweet waitress. The hand roll chef was so on top of it like a boss. Handled himself very well while serving a whole bar! Chatted with the manager Kevin for a bit and he was also nice to talk to and shared some good info about all of the sister restaurants in the area. We will be back!

My boyfriend and I had a phenomenal experience at ROL on 3/16! Our server Daniel was an absolute gem and he turned the experience from a 5/5 to a 10/5 stars. It was our first time and he explained everything with such enthusiasm and took great care of us. The rolls were freshly made and delicious- would highly recommend to everyone :)

Writing this review because of the amazing service from Daniel :) I've gone here countless times and every time I see him he makes our experience so fun and amazing!! I initially started coming here for the kaisendon, which I really enjoy for the price point. It's always so filling and I love the variety in fish that they include in there! The yuzu sauce is a must, I love the spicy and citrusy contrast it adds to the creamy scallops and shrimp. I do come here for the hand rolls too and I love doing the sets when the kaisendon is not available! Daniel is so energetic and easy to talk to when serving us, and he's always so attentive and bubbly. He always came back to check in on us often and made sure to keep our drinks full always. Truly the best server I have ever had, I get so happy when I see that he's working!!

Had the absolute best experience with our server Daniel (Dan)! I went on a tuesday afternoon around 2pm and we were seated immediately. We ordered the kaisendon bowls that are available until 4pm and it was amazing! I prefer it over the hand rolls imo, it's just like the kaisendon bowls at Tsujihan in Japan! It's super filling and whenever you'd want to, they pour a halibut broth in the bowl and it's amazing way to end the meal. I also ordered the dragonfruit lychee lemonade and I loved it! Dan was so nice and had exceptional service! I believe it was the best service I've experienced ever. Highly recommend!

Tin and I have actually been to ROL many times we just haven't done a review but here is one now! We usually get the 6-set which has salmon, spicy tuna crunch, scallop, crab, albacore, and toro. The salmon is a great roll to start off with. I am personally not a big fan of salmon but I love this roll! Then, we have the spicy tuna crunch. Today when we got it, it was the first time it was actually spicy. I like the fried onions in it because it adds a nice crunch. Next, we have the scallop which is personally Tin and I's favorite. It was super creamy today which made it taste amazing. Then, we got the crab which tasted spicy today for some reason. I personally liked it today but Tin had other things to say. Another one of our favorites is the albacore! It always surprises us with how good it is. Last, we have toro which is our least favorite. The sushi-rista today gave us extra of that ‍ it was super fishy. We usually also get the furikake fries which I inhaled in 5 minutes. Today, we tried the crispy tuna tartare which was pretty good! Overall tho, the vibes of ROL is amazing and the service is wonderful. I recommend the Huntington Beach location if you're looking for more spacious seating.

I love Rol. This is an excellent hand roll bar and I will regularly drive 30-40 minutes to get some with a friend or with family. It's most ideal for small groups for sure, so come with a buddy or date. The quality of service and food is always high here. I have visited multiple times over the last year and have not had a bad experience. Usually there is plenty of parking and the wait isn't too bad. Other great restaurants by Kei Concepts are also nearby.

Had a great first experience here. They only have a bar here and it gives budget friendly omakase experience vibes. They recommend that you eat the handroll within 15 second of getting it and honestly it was so good. The fish was fresh and i definitely recommend the scallop one. Great service from their staff as well.

I have yet to find a Kei Concepts restaurant I don't love. My friend and I came here for a belated birthday celebration, and I'm so glad we chose this spot. I'm the biggest fan of hand rolls, and this spot is modeled similarly to Kazunori (from the bar to the menu -- it's fairly similar). Definitely get one of the hand roll sets -- it really is the best way to get the full experience. We both got the Chili Garlic Edamame to start and the 6-set, which was $33. This is quite filling and was just enough food for us. Each roll was exquisite -- my favorites were the Spicy Tuna Crunch, Scallop, and the Toro, of course. I like that they are fairly bold with the different types of textures in the rolls, and you can tell the fish is good quality. We also got the Yuzu Guava Fizz to drink, and this was a good, light cocktail. Service was great throughout. The rolls come out quick, and as they advice, you should eat them as soon as you can so the nori stays crispy!!

I went here on a Monday night with a reservation. Be sure to get a reservation since it appeared every seat was filled! I got the 6-piece set which was pretty filling---I didn't expect this. The tuna rolls were my favorite with the chives and crispy onions. I also got the yuzu sauce which added a citrusy zest. Some rolls worked better with the yuzu sauce and some were better with the soy sauce. Service was great at the bar! The fish was great quality! I was a bit disappointed with the toro since it wasn't as fatty and buttery as I expected.

You can walk into any Kei concepts restaurants & you will get outstanding services. The rolls are made to order, so you get the contrasting textures of the crisp seaweed wrapped with warm rice & cold fish. My favorite is the fresh creamy uni. Definitely not a place you want to linger. The seats are hard bar stools.

I loved coming here for the rolls initially but it kind of got old after visiting too many times. And, after they started charging $2 for yuzu kosho, we started going a lot less often. But the kaisendon is definitely worth a trek up. It's super filling and hard to take home for leftovers. For 19$ you get the basic fish and shrimp. Uni and ikura definitely increase the price and probably not needed unless you tryna treat yoself. Try to eat most of the fish first saving some rice for the end. They shave some lemon shavings on and top your leftover rice with soup and it's amazingggg. A quick note- the kaisendon is a lunch special so try to get in before 3pm ish to order lol. Service is always amazing as always and the ambiance is good too.
