This place is awesome!! 5 stars wagyu beef. High quality 5 starts service. The servers here are really nice and friendly. They checked on us very often to make sure we had a good meal. They even got us a hot tea at the end after 3 of us killed a big bottle of sake

We ordered the whole cow course, which they said was their most popular in terms of the courses. Definitely felt very full after. They started out with some appetizers which included a full salad, some vegetables, cold meats, and salmon, which I felt was pretty generous for just the starters. The meat came out in two platters. Our favorite was the sirloin, brisket, shoulder clod, and marukaburi. The meats were incredibly tender and melted in my mouth, except for the cow tongue which was a bit too much on the chewy side for my liking. Some chunks of the short rib were a little too fatty. But overall had a great dining experience, service was good and each portion of the meal came out fairly quickly so that there was no wait in between.

This place is awesome! The interior is super nice and comfortable, service is fantastic, and the prices are quite reasonable for what you get. This is my go to spot whenever I want really good quality steak. I prefer smaller pieces like this hot off the grill vs larger pieces, I find the larger cuts just get too boring for me quickly. I would definitely come back.

The service is great. They kept checking in and asking if there's anything we need. We got the three kinds of meat platter which was so well marbled. The meat was perfectly seasoned and didn't need additional sauce or salt. I'll definitely be back to enjoy the meals.

If you are looking for an BBQ place the highest quality meat with a nice intimate ambiance, Tsuruichi is the place to be! It's is a small restaurant with about 8 tables and each table is in its own booth, creating a semi private dining environment. The menu offers a large variety cuts of Wagyu beef, organized by "marbled" or "lean" cuts. Since it was our first time at the restaurant, we opted to try the Tsuruichi platter, which comes with beef tongue, brisket, Kobe skirt, and lean cut of the day (totaling 12 oz for $100). It was a great combination of cuts, offering different texture and flavor. My favorites were the beef tongue (best I've had) and the briskets (extreme marbled and melts in your month, almost like butter...). They also have a new item on the special menu - Iberico pork, which was also delicious and totally worth the price ($20). The servicing staff were very friendly and attentive as well! We had such a great experience that we already reserved to come back 2 weeks later before we left the restaurant!

If you are in the mood to splurge, then yes come here. The meat quality here is top notch. We ordered the omakase platter and everything was absolutely mouth watering. Please keep in mind that this place is not made for a large party more than 6. Great place if you want to have an intimate dinner.

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday a couple months ago and it was SO good, the meat was some of the best I've had at JBBQ and definitely well worth the price point for the quality. Overall spent only a little over $100 for two people for a decent amount of meat + drinks and dessert, but definitely think we could have splurged for the whole cow platter if we wanted to be extra full! The staff was really good about educating us on the amount of food was included in the menu items we were looking over as it was our first time there.

My favorite thing about this restaurant was the interior; it was modern, sleek, and tastefully decorated. The food was overall good but nothing amazing in my opinion. The meat is high quality which was expected but I have to say it was certainly pricier compared to other restaurants in the area that also have premium wagyu cuts. I'm not sure if I would come back, but it's cool that there's a JBBQ spot in Fountain Valley now!

Amazing service and insanely good meats! I'm not sure why another reviewer said this place has poor service.. The staff is always pleasant and on point! This is the closest you'll get to Japan in OC!
