Food portions were a bit too small for the price they charge. Also they really should use soup containers for to go orders with food that has a lot of liquid and sauces. The plastic tray they used ripped small holes in the plastic bag and also the sauces and oil leaked out a little on the drive home. The food was really good though, which is why it got 4 stars. There is room for improvement for the business.Vegetarian options: There are a few items that is vegetarian at this place, which is what I ordered.

Perfect place for your first Afghani food experience. Family run, honey feeling, very chill vibe, and absolutely delectable food. We had the dough, Banjan Borani ( eggplant + yogurt ) and Qabuli Palow ( rice, carrots and lamb shank ). The 2 dishes go perfectly together, and we can't wait to come back for the Kadoo Borani next time.

Very nice and cozy restaurant. The owner is sweeter than the firini they have. We had the mando and the trio kebab plate. We thoroughly enjoyed both! The meat was so tender. My mother in law has dietary restrictions and she had brought her own food, the owner allowed her to have her food along with ours. Highly recommend this hidden gem! Will come back with my friends again ?

Very nice family-run restaurant. Their customer service stood out, making us feel welcome after our drive from Vancouver to North Cali, accommodating our large group of 13 for dinner. Prices are very reasonable for the generous portion sizes. The food had a homemade touch we really enjoyed. We ordered Mantu, Chicken Kabob, Chapli Kabob, Beef Kabob, and Qabuli Palow, all well-prepared with flavorful rice, Afghan bread, and salad. Every dish, was very delicious and extremely filling. The meat was tender, the naan soft, and very clean. Highly recommended for authentic, tasty, halal Afghan food in Bay Area.

I do not have enough good things to say about this place. I was working down the street and wanted to try something new. I asked for a vegetarian recommendation and was delighted with the squash bolani, especially mildly spicy with the yogurt dip. Then who I suspect was the owner came to check in on me and asked if I ate dairy. When I said yes, he brought me the eggplant borani AND a delicious rosewater cream dessert to try. I was stuffed and delighted! When I told him I live a few hours away, he insisted on bringing me a giant sesame naan to take home, explaining that sending someone on a journey with food is a mark of Afghan hospitality. My stomach and heart were both so full after my experience here and I sure wish I could pop by for lunch whenever I wanted to!

This is a very small family run restaurant. The owners are full of heart and so nice to their customers. I enjoyed the lamb shank with rice(qalbuli pallow) carrots and raisins. We also had the kebob (chicken and beef) and meat patty. The bolani (squash and potato) was the best I've ever had and the Mantoo was also very good.

This is a little family run shop, so if you're looking for authentic afghan food, you've found it.It appears most people order for take out. We didn't run into anyone dining in, but saw many coming in/out picking up their orders. The bolani: they had only sweet potato and potato (no leek) available. We did a half/half order, and it was so yummy! The mantoo was not our cup of tea, but being Asian, we are probably just being picky about our dumplings :)We ordered the lamb shank with rice. It was yummy-- the lamb was very tender and nicely cooked. The combination platter had chicken, steak, and a ground beef patty. The were out of the other ground beef, which I would have preferred. Kids could only do the lamb bc the other meat was too spicy for them. Everything came with yogurt and a green chutney sauce We got the yogurt cucumber sauce and the ensalata which I thought was going to be cucumber, tomato and onion pico de gallo type of side, but it was an actual salad. They were out of a number of things but overall a good meal was had. Oh and the owner (I think) was so friendly and came to chat with us and sent out a plate of baklava, which was so so so kind.
