“It was just this side of Spectacular leaning toward Amazing, that's how I'd describe my meal at the Hayward Denny's.I don't get into Hayward much but when my old pal Hurgall Humpstaller called and said he needed some help with a pesky Wombat, I was all in! Hurgall's neighbor Glance Aataway raises those nasty little creatures and sells them at the San Jose Flee Market every Sunday for 25 bucks. I thought...you know what, I could use a Wombat up at my spread to keep the Bowhigglies in check, so here I am at the Hayward Denny's having a celebratory lunch on a rainy day with a Wombat in a cardboard box.My Navy bean soup and Italian sandwich combo was Amazing! ☆☆☆☆☆“
“I have lived in Milpitas for 3 1/2 years now, and only recently 'discovered' this hidden gem right at the end of the street I live on!!! Their menu is varied enough to have a great selection, but not so much that it's overwhelming. The minute you enter their diner, you're greeted with a warm Good Morning or Good Afternoon! The staff is very attentive and friendly; we felt like members of the family from our first visit! The food is priced fairly, which is hard to say about almost any other restaurant I've been in lately, and, it is delicious! There you have it...Welcoming, friendly staff, great menu selection, delicious food, priced fairly. A recipe for success, obviously since they've been there for over 20 years! Try it, you will not be disappointed!“
“We visited this restaurant for the first time today and it was exactly what we were looking for. The restaurant is quite large and has a very authentic "retro" feel to it. They have all your favorites, I'm sure your grandma would love to join you for all day breakfast or dinner (they also have a very distinctive "eau of your grandma's house" scent, which adds to the overall experience).Food was plentiful and well priced.We had the following:-Veal Parmesan: Very similar in taste to what you'd expect from an eggplant parmesan. Didn't really care for the side of pasta.The meal also included a bowl of soup (we opted for clam chowder, which was delicious) and desert. The strawberry ice cream is great!!-Pastrami sandwich: very tasty and filling. It was an absolute treat. I'd skip the coleslaw tho, not my favorite.Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Will be coming back for breakfast next time!“
“The typical small town diner! The people are super nice. The food is also delicious. The breakfast potatoes were delicious and crispy and perfectly seasoned. The benedict was savory and tasty. The waffles and french toast were surprisingly tasty! I thought it would be just the typical American breakfast but they put their own twist on it to make it so sweet and yummy! Highly recommend the churro waffles!“
“We were there with a large group--about 25 people. They have a nice space for us. One waitress took our orders pretty much as we arrived. People even gave special orders and there were no problems. All the staff was very cheery and nice. The food was simple and tasty.
