XIFU HOTPOT is a new hot pot spot in Fremont popular with a Chinese crowd. The food is absolutely fire and considered the best tasting spicy hotpot in the Bay Area by some. The $59.99 four-soup-base bundle is a cheap deal, and soup bases like the pork bone broth and tomato broth are legit, clear, rich, not salty, and packed with visible herbs. They are perfect for dunking meat like Spicy Beef and Braised Beef, seafood, duck blood, and veggies. The restaurant provides many freebies like spicy chicken feet, sesame balls, mussels, sweet soup, various fruits, and great dipping sauces, including a secret sauce. A DIY fruit dessert at the buffet is also available.
The service and atmosphere are awesome overall, with staff described as total rizz, though service can be slow when crowded. The environment is average, but the decorations are really cute. A minor complaint is that freebie items like sesame balls and watermelon can take too long to be refilled. The ventilation is good, so customers may not smell like hotpot afterward, though some still recommend wearing clothes you don't mind smelling like spice. A disappointment is that only flavored soju is offered, not the original. Despite small issues, there is major willingness to come back.
