Great food, Great service, great atmosphere! Waitress was outstanding and personable.
We celebrated Father's Day with authentic Chinese cuisine at Spicy J’s – a true delight for our taste buds! My fortune cookie held a familiar quote: “A problem clearly stated is a problem solved.” I instantly recalled it was from the legendary Charles Kettering of GM. What a pleasant surprise!
I had a great time at Spicy Js. Super fresh food and GREAT service. We loved our waiter Kyle, he went above and beyond to make sure we had a good meal. We will be back!
Definitely coming back
Food was filling. Staff was quick, accommodating, and couldn't have asked for more. Will come back, highly recommended.
Always made fresh & very delicious authentic chinese food. My top 3 to go places.
This restaurant offers generous portions of food and includes a choice of two soups or a salad with your meal at no extra cost. The prices are reasonable, making it worth visiting.

Spicy J's used to be good- but i noticed the service and quality of the food declining. Went to dine in and the Noodle and gravy plate was completely cold, greasy, and completely stale. Like why would you even bring out the plate to the table, also asked for no chicken they never added extra shrimp just proceeded to charge me to same amount with no chicken, like if that's the case make the plate REGUAR and and skimp customers. IDK- this is always how it goes, starts off strong, then it starts to LACK> Please, do better.

I would say it's more of an "Upscale Panda Express" and as far as value goes you can get a comparable price at PF Changs with higher qualiy cuisines.

I had been looking for a replacement for my Chinese “first love”, Yen Ching, which has been closed down since around 2010.
Well I’m happy to say that I’ve found just the place in Spicy J’s to fill that void in my heart (and my stomach). Fantastic food, friendly staff, cool vibes. My favorite dish is the Crispy Beef, but WOW, do they have some good soups and even salads. I come here every chance I get (I’m not from Fresno).

Food is SO good! Cheese wontons taste fresh, the mini pork dumplings were so juicy and didn’t break when picked up! The chicken was very good too :)! The atmosphere is beautiful and the customer service was great as well! Thank you for this wonderful meal ( ◠‿◠ )

The food was amazing, appetizer was seafood shumai and honey walnut shrimp, both had amazing flavor texture and portioned very well, the presentation of the dishes was phenomenal. For main course had the fujian sticky fried rice with added seafood, a very present and enjoyable mix of rice and seafood, great taste. The spicy koryo pork belly was full of flavor great texture and had a hint of garlic but wasn't overpowering the pork belly flavor but did give it a very fine spice to it, overall great rich flavor. Last dish was spare ribs in sweet vinegar sauce, the glaze and texture paired very well with a red lotus drink, for desert a deep fried cheese cake with a drizzle of caramel. Very sweet but yet satisfying. Overall great atmosphere good food an great service.

Update: I have been a regular at spicy j's for years, but I must say as of lately the quality has gone down. The orange chicken used to be delicious, best around. Now it's dry, not enough sauce, and they don't use the orange slices. The same goes for the Gong Bao Chicken it also tastes different. Maybe the chef changed, but it needs to improve. Also, portion sizes have changed. the black rice used to be packed in the container, Now there is barely any in there. So It's been at least 4-5 times I've come back, and it's just not the same. I will be back again. If it hasn't improved, this will be the last. Changing the 5 star to 3.
The food is always great. If you like spicy, the Szechuan Dan Dan noodles are a go-to for sharing at the table with an order of orange chicken. The Szechuan chicken is also delicious. It has no sauce, so the chicken is crispy on the outside, but super tender and juicy on the inside. Topped with Szechuan chilie blow this dish away. The servers are attentive and awesome each time I've been there. Even when doing take out very easy to call or use online ordering.
