“Fresno isn't known for its sushi or seafood, but Umi Sushi really delivers some great tasting food.

We came for dinner on a Monday and got seated immediately, got drinks quickly, and when we got our food, it was fantastic. I got a Dragon Roll, a Rainbow Roll, and a couple of nigiri and the rolls were great and quite large (don't order too many) and the Chirashi Bowl had a lot of really tasty sashimi in it.

If you're in the mood for sushi, definitely consider Umi Sushi!“

“Great place for sushi, date nights, celebrations and overall atmosphere.
The sushi was fresh and well put together. They have a MASSIVE selection of rolls to choose from as well as sashimi, nigiri and everything else you could imagine.

Friendly staff and decent wait times. I recommend making a reservation especially for Fri and Sat nights. The apps took quite a while and they did forget one of our rolls but the server was really good.

Prices a bit on the high side compared to other places but not bad. Overall great food and a great experience.“

“We are here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon, it was around 1pm & we waited 5-7mins for our table. Their lunch menu is a great option, we had sushi obento & temaki ranchi which came with a miso soup, portion is ok for 2 at lunch. Sushi is fresh & so delicious, yellowtail & flatfish is really good. For temaki, I wished they have more raw options on the lunch menu 😀, my favorite is the crunchy garlic kani. Overall, the restaurant is clean & well-decor, fresh cuts, a great place for a date night or even lunch. Oh, the compliment green bean is so good!“

“Ordered take out from the vegan menu- the mr. potato roll and miso soup. Pick up was easy and timely. The roll was good, even unique with the concept of tater tots accompanying it, but for me personally, I wouldn't pay $20+ again for it. The outside avo and sauce had a great taste but was overpowered by the plain taste of rice. Had there been soy sauce that came along with it, it probably would have tasted better. You can purchase soy for $2 but I overlooked that as I've never ordered sushi where you didn't get a few packets with the roll.
I also checked the option for utensils seeing as I was traveling, but only chopsticks were included so I had nothing for my soup.
I love that there is a large vegan menu and I would absolutely go back to try more of it- I just feel there could be a little more attention to detail for take out orders.“

“The cook John was great. He was engaging and funny instead of going through the motions like some cooks do. Food was great too. Not a complaint just a suggestion, the waitress could have been a little more personable and enthusiastic. She wasn't bad but not great, very quiet and didn't say your welcome when thanking her. “I stopped here for a late dinner on a business trip from LA. I was very pleasantly surprised, the food quality was great, the fish was fresh. The prices are very fair considering this economy. The sushi chef was very kind, helpful, and gave me some great tips for the Fresno area and Sequoia. The owners were there also, so very kind and accommodating. The waitress also was beyond attentive and helpful. Thanks for being the highlight of my work trip.“
