The ambiance is top notch whether you're inside or outside. It's my favorite spot for prime rib in the LA area. Parking can be difficult in the main lot, but they have a lower lot and valet parking

Food/Drink- 4 stars
Truffle fries- these were superb. definitely order

Escargot- a bit disappointed by it. The snails had more bitterness than expected

Prime rib- this was divine. Every slice of the prime rib was so flavorful. I love how you can request it to be cut thinly into English cuts. The creamed corn and creamed spinach were very good, and I appreciated that it wasn't overwhelmed with heavy cream, like a lot of other steakhouses. I was a bit disappointed by the Yorkshire pudding, which came out a bit dry

desserts- we tried the chocolate profiteroles and strawberry cheesecake. Both were pretty good / standard steakhouse quality

Service- 4 stars
Our server, Matt, was excellent. My only complaint was the pacing, as we did wait a long time between our appetizers and entrees.

Bottom Line
The ambiance, views and prime rib were top notch. But the pacing and dryness of the Yorkshire pudding left some room for improvement

I rated them with two stars to get their attention. The food and service was great. We ate in the main dining room. But the upholstered arm chairs must have been the originals. The seat cushion is done. We had to rearrange our chairs after being seated on the cushioned chair so that we were high enough to eat. If you get the upholstered arm chairs ask to be seated elsewhere. They need to reupholster them.

The place wins you over almost immediately, long before you have taken stock of everything it has to offer. The welcome feels warm and instinctively well paced, the menu is purposeful without ever feeling narrow, and the atmosphere carries a quiet steadiness that gently moves the outside world out of frame. Nothing tries to claim your attention, yet every detail sits so naturally within the whole that settling in feels almost automatic and leaving feels harder than it should.

Great dependable place with perfect ambience... If you like classic fine dining. Always delicious, not avant-garde or snooty but just a great place to always get classic fine foods and feel like you're at the country club.

Went here for a special occasion the other day. The restaurant is situated in a charming little hilltop. Navigating the parking lot isn't horrible, and while it is usually packed, you will eventually find parking.

The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and they keep the cottage theming very tasteful. There is a beautiful view of orange county from the main dining room.

The food is delicious and is worth the price point. We had the ahi tuna to start with, and for our main courses we had the sea bass and the John Dory. Both were well made and very filling. They even provided a complimentary creamed corn side, which was much appreciated. For dessert we got the chocolate lovers torte, which is incredibly rich and I would recommend sharing it or accompanying it with coffee.

I gave this place a four because I received a very dirty fork with dessert. I understand that accidents happen and the staff were quick to replace it, but at this price point I wouldn't expect things like that to happen.

Still overall, great experience and great food, would still absolutely recommend for special occasions.

This park is pretty cool it's home to the famous summit House restaurant I unfortunately didn't have enough money to eat but anyways there's a lot of trails and parking lots and roads and stuff it's really cool no lake though I thought there was a lake bummer
It's one of the more peaceful parks I've ever been to. 🤠

Summit House is our absolute favorite restaurant. We go often and are always welcomed with excellent service from the moment we are greeted at the curb from valet all the way through the dining experience. Eating at Summit House is always special… whether it is with local friends and family or out of state and out of the country friends and family, everyone feels so special and the dining experience they have at Summit House is always a highlight during their visit. We don’t wait for only special occasions to dine here. We laughingly call Summit House our country club:-) Often when we don’t feel like cooking our go to is this fabulous restaurant that consistently makes every meal a celebration. We LOVE having Summit House so close. We really miss Howard at the piano… We used to always make a special trip Into the bar to talk to him and thank him for his incredible piano playing! Also ate in the bar often when we decided to go too late to make a reservation. Tables in the bar are first come first serve with the same great food and service. Thank you Summit House! We love you!

My favorite restaurant! Always the best dining experience. We come here almost every year after getting married here 22 years ago!

We came for our wedding anniversary and we're pleasantly surprised and satisfied. Window table with a view was given as requested. A card signed by all the staff and a free anniversary cake dessert were provided. With good food and attentive service, it was an overall great night for both of us.

Summit House is a nice place for a special dinner. The service and ambiance are excellent. Food is well prepared but definitely over priced.
