Visited here specifically for their Tres Leches Cake, which is their most popular cake.

Parking: There's a large parking lot with plenty of spots. There's 30 min spots in front of the store too.

Ambiance/Environment: They have a small space. All the pastries, cakes, and hot items are displayed and labeled. They have plenty of pastries but very limited cakes. There is no seating whatsoever. It's a quick grab-n-go location.

Service: I was warmly greeted by the cashier. Unfortunately, I did not catch her name. She helped me pick out the cake and nicely wrapped it in a box. Some workers speak English, while others only speak Spanish.

Cakes & offerings: All their pastries are decorated beautifully and look delicious. Again, I mainly came for their Tres Leches Cake. Their cakes are 8 inches. Perfect size to feed a family. They offer slices of cakes as well and smaller decorative cakes. Now I know why their Tres Leches Cake is so popular! The cake is absolutely moist and not too sweet! The fruits were fresh. I think it would've been better without the excessive amount of buttercream, but it was easy to scrape off. I really enjoyed this!

Pricing: The cake was $43.67 after taxes. Pretty decent prices compared to supply chain bakeries. Highly recommend their Tres Leches Cake! Will be back to try their pastries!

We stopped by Estrella de Mexicali while in town for the Share Your Light event, and it was absolutely worth it! The food was fresh, flavorful, and full of love — you can taste the heart behind every dish. 🌮💖 The pastries were out of this world, and Blanca’s customer service was incredible.

Very clean and friendly! Talk to the chef if you have allergies. I do have allergies and the owner/chef camenoit and helped me. Her name is Blanca and she is from Mexicali! They do speak English well if you have a concern with that. Authentic pastries and breads. They bake 3 times a day. You can also buy tortillas. The food is amazing as well! I have only tried the Mexican food and pastries. I grew up near Mexicali so I do know what I'm eating is good. Prices are very reasonable. There is no seating. It is taken out only. Which to me is what the bakeries are I grew up with. You even take a tray and tongues and load up your tray. Just like I grew up with. ❤️

There bread and tamales are very good a little expensive but good and they don't make aa much as they use to so you have to be lucky to get tamales after 8.00 a.m.

Super cute, very clean and nice staff. Make pupusas to order and are delicious. Bread was amazing and prices were reasonable for the items I purchased.

UPDATE: I went in again on this Friday as I loved their food. I grabbed multiple baggies of their Empeñadas de piña y guava. Yesterday night(Saturday which was only the next day from the purchase date) I realized there was very OBVIOUS MOLD GROWTH! What a shame/disappointing and concerning. Mold starts growing before you see it so I wonder how long they were sitting. Photos included. I’ve only gone in there twice now so I don’t think I’ll be going back.

We are so grateful and happy on how catering order turned out. The food we ordered was excellent. The entire food for the weekend was delivered on time and excellent. It was delicious. Horrible customer service. I ordered a torta de tamal de frijol and they gave me a bolillo with beans and cheese. Then I went to try and get it changed and the owner said that they dont sell that but she said i had to pay for another one, well i thought you dont sell it. The cashier didn't even hand me my receipt and she said i refused it lol how am i going to refuse something that wasnt even handed to me. I will never buy from you guys again. Its a shame that they have this attitude towards customers. And the owner refused to give me back my money. Ridiculous!!! Its more of a shame cause food ain't bad its the employees and the owner itself who are Horrible people. Not customer friendly at all

Very bad about the increase in tortillas, the tariffs were canceled and they still increased the price. It is an abuse. I hope that other people stop buying tortillas for the moment until they lower the price.

Bread with hair. Inside the bread, disgusting. Never will buy from them again. In answer to your response, I hope you are more careful when you cook or bake, cause it wasn't my fault to find a hair embedded in a concha. If you can't take a complaint, thats too bad, that shows what other customers said, you guys have bad attitude. And thank you for reading my others reviews... ✌️

I am visiting from Seattle and visited for my first time, but it won’t be my last! The staff were so incredibly friendly, the food is delicious and the agua fresca is freshly made and just what I needed at the end of a long travel day!! They made me feel so welcomed and I highly recommend! I’m so sad I’m missing Pupusa Day this Sunday ? I ordered the pork and cheese pupusa, conchas, arroz con leche, and strawberry fresca.
