I always come to Kuju as I love the small appetizers that come with the meal and I usually get the bibimbap which is served in a hot stone bowl. I love that bibimbap!
Excellent food in the middle of a mini Asian town. Would visit again!
Very yummy food, esp for a cool evening!
Noting good
The best soft tofu in southern CA!
I was here for Sun dinner with my mom. Arrived fairly early (for dinner) at around 5:30pm. Restaurant was maybe only about 50% full, but it was buzzing and all the wait staff were quite busy.
1. Taste - as good as you'd expect from a decent soon tofu place. Nothing to write home about, but also nothing bad. Decent. Banchans were plentiful and tasted good. Again, good but not excellent. We had seafood and mushroom soon tofu, and pork bulgogi. Pork dish was okay - I've had better. 30 min after the meal, when we got back home, I had a dry mouth, which is a good indication of good presence of MSG.
2. Service - slight less than basic. Got to our seats. Took our order. Then, the waitress, in a haste literally threw our utensils on the table. They were busy, I get it, but man, please show some respect. Then, when we asked for the water (to make rice water) a different waitress somewhat rudely poured water. I guess we should've asked earlier... but man, they were busy and attention to detail and customer service was absent. Again, less than basic.
3. Atmosphere - not comfortable. They were blasting Kpop. It was loud, fast, and quite annoying. Reminiscent of when I got a speeding ticket listening to heavy metal. I think the loud music and subsequent loud talking, with constant ringing of the service bell made everyone, including those who worked there, quite nervous.
Bottom line. If you want simple standard fair Korean food, a good place to try. Don't expect a great service or miracle...
Kaju Soft Tofu Restaurant is a consistently enjoyable spot for a casual dining experience. I've been coming to this location for years, typically at least once a year for dinner, and I usually order the Kaju Special Dinner Combo D along with extra rice. The food quality is excellent overall, and it has consistently met my expectations.
The restaurant offers ample parking, so finding a spot is rarely an issue. The ambiance is lively, which adds to its casual charm, though there is often a short wait for a table. This bustling atmosphere makes it clear that the restaurant is popular and attracts many repeat customers.
The main area where Kaju Soft Tofu Restaurant falls short is in its service. While I appreciate the hard work of the staff, many of whom seem to be from Korea and may be dealing with language barriers, the experience often feels rushed. The servers seem eager to move diners along, likely to accommodate the high volume of guests. Although I understand the challenges of a busy restaurant, this aspect of the service can sometimes detract from the overall dining experience.
Despite these concerns, I would still recommend Kaju Soft Tofu Restaurant, primarily for the quality of its food. If you're looking for a casual yet delicious meal, it's worth a visit.

Visited on 11/3. Ordered a plate of Galbi bbq ribs. 25 minutes later still didn’t come out. Table next to us didn’t get theirs either. It’s your most popular item and cooks so fast! Very disappointed. Other locations are much better. Skip this one.

I made a reservation through the app for dinner, went on time, and had a delicious meal comfortably without waiting.
The workers were friendly and thanks to Gina, it was a warmer evening.

the wait list moved quickly and we were given our kimchi beef tofu bowls quickly as well.
there’s a cute little robot to help deliver food too! the servers were so friendly & quick to check up on us. price point was fair especially for the quality of food served
Waitlist is convenient and food is decent but they’ll kick you off the waitlist when it’s almost your turn with no contact. I was on my way to the restaurant and was almost there, but literally got booted when it wasn’t even my turn to get seated! Definitely taking my business elsewhere - I’ve been coming here for almost 10 years but I’d never come back just based on that experience. Ridiculous!
It's so busy on weekends, but the food is truly delicious. I love Korean soft tofu soups. The side dishes are great as well.
