The ramen wasn't so flavorful when it came to the broth. They attended us fast but we literally spent more than 30 mins waiting for our food to come out. The god awful smell in there give you a headache and it feels suffocating. Other than that everything was good. The ramen here is subpar compared to others I go to.

Went there for my first time last night around opening time, very friendly customer service experience. I enjoyed my 'Fire Bowl Ramen' (Intermediate / 2nd Spice level) so much that I drank most of the broth. The general atmosphere felt like I was in Japan again, it may not be everyone's liking, but I personally enjoy dimly lit ambiance for a dinner setting.

The OG, oldschool ramen house of SoCal. This place is run by one of the nicest individuals you will ever meet. He is a Japanese immigrant who pours alot of heart and soul in every bowl he makes. It's simple, basic ramen, without all the frills you get in some of the franchise ramen places. It's more traditional ramen the way they make in japan. The place is a little hole in the wall with a real chill vibe to it. Never gets too packed. Only issue is your order can sometimes take time just because it's him and one other making all the food, but that don't bother me at all because I just chill with my asahi beer and hot sake. Definitely recommend it if you enjoy simple ramen. And if you wanna keep going theres a nice little karoake bar next door which Mr.Asa also owns. Enjoy

I've been coming here for several years now. Every time I'm here, the entire staff is Japanese. Definitely helps give it a more authentic feel. I suppose it also helps that the Ramen is fantastic! Every time I leave I'm completely satisfied, full with a delicious meal. It also helps that this place is a few dollars cheaper than some of the other local Ramen spots. Oh, and the late hours are a wonderful late night alternative to Denny's!

The place seemed a bit dirty on the inside. Also, when the waiter brought me my water, there was a peace of paper at the bottom of my cop. Then, the pot stickers came to our table, & they had a pretty good taste to them

Quite possibly the best ramen + side dishes I’ve had in the South Bay, especially greater LA, and for an unbeatable price. Staff is professional and courteous! Don’t even consider anything else nearby. This place is all you need.

Definitely the best ramen broth I've ever had. The fish cake and cheese appetizer was also pretty good.

Never open during lunch only late nights. My favorite is Shinsengumi to go across the street or Jidaya ramen down the street. Even Little China is better for chanpon.

I'm not sure what the low ratings are about. It may not be the trendiest place, but it sure is a solid go-to for no frills, yummy ramen. The space is small and connected to a karaoke bar; some of the sound gets through. Value is their selling point. $9 gets you a satiating bowl of ramen while paying $3 more still gets you a heftyyyy size. The Kotteri Shoyu ramen was flavorful and the noodles were well-cooked. The only thing I would dock a star for is the chashu seeming a little dry or overdone for my liking, but that wouldn't be enough to stop me from coming back though. Service was quick. We were in and out in 20 min!

This place is great because it's open late. It's not the best ramen but it's good enough for those nights when you are craving ramen and nothing is open or about to close. We have eaten here at normal dinner hours and not just late night. The service is quick and friendly. This time we ordered:GyozaShio RamenMiso RamenThe shio ramen has a better flavor than the miso ramen. I was trying something new. I normally order the Kotteri Ramen. Try it! Enjoy!

I just got back from Japan and ran across this place in Gardena while in business. The hours they are open to def caught my eye. The place def has character and years of it. The chef greeted me and sat me at the bar. I was then greeted by the waiter who apparently just painted as he was covered with specks of paint. The menu is straight forward and has a bit to offer than standard ramen joint. I was a bit hungry so ordered karaage and a large kayteeri shoyu ramen. The karaage was piping hot when it was served with a side of mayo. The chicken texture was so airy and light. The batter thickness and texture was very good as all. The mayo works fine with it but I'm certain it would be amazing with any sauce. The flavor of the Kayteeri shoyu ramen was a bit on the stronger side for my taste. At the same time, if you compare seasoning levels in general in Japan vs in the US, that's typical. Perhaps because I just returned from a trip recently and have to recalibrate. Overall I didn't enjoy the ramen as it was somewhat typical. Overall 3 stars but karaage and authenticity pushed it up to 4.
