Great service from the moment you walk in. Nice sake selection and Red wine. Few drinks of liquid courage later Karaoke will find you.

All girls are ugly and expensive

Do yourself a favor and go to karaoke some place else because you are not going to find that here, its a typical overpriced hotess bar and the women just flirt/drink with the men all night

This is my favorite Bar in Gardena. Mama-san who is Toshi -san who is very nice and friendly. I know they are closed now for Covid-19 season. I am very missing Bar 104. They have good Shochu , Japanese sake , beer , wine and sparkling wine as well . Also Karaoke too ! I want to highly recommend Bar 104 !!! Their style is unique like girls bar style but not too expensive price .

Bar 104 (ten four) is closer to a Japanese style Hostess Bar which caters to single men or group of men. This is a place where men can come to make small social talk, unwind and be entertained by the bar ladies who will make jokes, tell funny stories, up men's egos to create a welcoming environment. All the male guest must do is to buy the ladies a drink which for our group of 4 ran to $16 or $4/person. Maybe the ladies took pity on us since we didn't look like HUGE BALLERS. Women are welcome, but most will find it boring since this kind of business does not specifically meet the needs of heterosexual women. Ladies who come with their boyfriends or husbands may feel that the bar hostesses are trying to steal their man although that is probably not the case since it is the function of the hostesses to please their male customers. We sat & drank around the bar where the hostesses seem to hover around the most. I noticed that the guests on sofas away from the bar are left more alone to congregate with their own group. So if you want to party in with your own posse, this may be a better space. Seating at the bar is $10 cover while the sofas are $20 per person. There is Karaokè (kah rah oh keh) with Japanese and English language songs. We sang a few to while away our stay when we took a break from talking with the hotesses who circulate from time to time to different guests. Bar 104 may be of more interest to people who enjoy Japanese language, culture, "traditional hostess bar environment", or are at least open to international, cultural influences. If you can't suspend American mores, political correctness, my way or the highway approach, 104 may not be for you since 104 seems to be an enclave that follows the beat of a different drummer. I found 104 to be a fun night out with the boys. The hostesses were cordial, fun, tastefully catering to our needs at the same time exacting a reasonable fee. Shōchū/Japanese low octane "vodka", Sakè (sah keh), Beer, Wine available. Fair trade, fair exchange. 4 Yelp stars.

I was in the mood for drinks and karaoke so we jumped in the car and started driving and you can spot Bar 104 from the street. We parked and went in & the place was empty but it was only about 7pm. The lady at the bar was super friendly and accommodating though. The karaoke machine was Japanese so she helped us out and they had all the songs you wanna sing. I really like the karaoke machine btw. Anyway, drinks were reasonably priced we hand sake and beer and around 9pm people started coming in. It was a great crowd, happy, positive crowd & everybody sang a song or two... great place, great atmosphere, get drinks and great waitress

First time at Bar 104 with my friend I flew out of town with for vacation. The place was really happening with a futuristic ambience. The bar tenders and workers there were really nice and helpful with our drinks and songs. I actually got to sing a couple of Japanese songs along with a number of English ones. There was one lady there who had a golden voice. I really enjoyed listening to her sing and also had the chance to sing a duet with her. The crowd was pretty cool too. Will have to come back here again.

Beware of this bar. Went in just for a round of drinks with a few friends and was halted by the bartender telling us there was a cover charge. He went on to explain, and we clarified, that it was a $15 charge for the table. Not even clubs charge a $15 cover in DTLA But against better judgement we sat anyway. Enjoyed a few 6 asahis on draft and 2 vodka rocks, and some karaoke. As a friend asked for the bill, the bartender attempted not to show her the bill, but she knew better saying that she needed it. Turns out he charged us $15 PER PERSON to sit at a table Just to sit. Preposterous. We then came to look on yelp and found that we are not the first to encounter a cover charge when we don't fit the mold for the customers they would like to attract. Be wary. Nothing special here except hidden charges.

There is NO karaoke happening here. This is a small hole in the wall Asian HOSTESS BAR. My husband and I went last night to have a drink and watch some karaoke singing and we're immediately taken outside and told we had to pay $35 each to sit at a table and then buy a drink for the hostess who would come sit with my husband. NOT HAPPENING. Although it explained why the hostess gave lot up when she saw my husband then looked Horrified when she saw me lol. The manager even told us they call it karaoke on yelp but there's no karaoke even happening.

This place is real cozy. A nice place to come to wind down, sing some karaoke and pretty much have a good time. Everyone is way nice and the place is awesome. My new drink time hang out. You must stop by and give this place a try. And if it's not for you, at least you'll walk out with a nice buzz. But, you'll like it.

Its alright, they seem to be understaffed. It's not really a hostess bar because they don't put much attention with the customers (accommodation wise), sure they sometimes poor drinks but their communication level is not really that good, but then again the place was pretty packed, Toshi san was very welcoming, the karaoke is pretty fun because they always have music updated. Izumi is pretty good at singing. I'd say go once and you'll know what I mean... it's more close to a girls bar.
