“Have not eaten here yet but eva since I get deported bak to the states I have had no damn fry jack no Jonny cake , no REAL rice and beans or atu bean wit rice. Can I get gobnut here or hicitee.. I will be stopping by soon I can't wait to see what unu have. Onion sauce . I had da best onion sauce bak inna da bush wit miss mampy at Maya crystal skull back a Altun Ha. “You see the pictures bro put up with the empty plate. Yep that pretty much sums up the food right there. I had pictures, but then I started crying cause they looked so good and dropped my phone and accidentally deleted them off my phone. But yea, definitely recommend the Belizian tamale, yes it has the full bone iykyk 🍗“

“Chef Bensford's food is delicious! I highly recommend The Island Kitchen. My wife and I have ordered for ourselves and I have catered with him for a short film project. Positive experiences both times. His food is authentic, intentional, and tasty. The oxtails! Oh my.“

And the look at the portion. Not to mention the tenderness.

“I also loved the diversity of people in the restaurant. So many different cultures coming to share a meal. Good food brings people together. Parking is difficult but you'll find it. If you're lucky, you'll see the house with the cats and chickens“

“One of my favorite restaurants authentic Latin cuisine. I have been coming here for over 30 years and was so sad when it closed down during the pandemic. So glad it reopened! Can’t wait 😜 to go back. I give it 5 stars for sure!“

“I can’t say enough good things about this place! The food is always so amazing and is so authentic! The amazing service, attention to detail, and musical talent from Ashley up front is unmatched! Hearing Ashley’s beautiful voice singing Jamaican gospel has to be the icing on the cake (or on the sweet potato pudding lol) of a lovely meal. My family drives all the way from East LA for this food and it is well worth it! Thank you, Country Style!“

“She is always a nice person . Food is decent but portions are a little small as far as meat is concerned . Being from the east coast we have plenty of island cuisine . And it feels good to get some in Inglewood. All she has to do is offer a bigger selection of food . Normally it's just one Jamaican dish to choose from and bean pies and the normal soups and American food . All are great. Just wish she had a bigger variety“

“You would never know from the outside how amazing the food is on the inside. Let me tell you something Stop by this place If you like flavor. It's amazing very good portions. “Yo!, I never took L.A. for the Jamaican food scene. Being a Floridian and visiting the Caribbean, I didn't expect to find an awesome Jamaican food spot during my visit to L.A. After dining at Wah Gwaan, I had to tell management that they would be a spot to contend with back in Florida for Jamaican food. The jerk chicken was awesome and the wife had the oxtails and they were so tender. I recommend this spot to locals, tourists, or anyone that is in the area. When I'm back on the west coast, I'm looking Wah Gwaan Jamaican Kitchen & Bar up again for a delicious meal that reminds me of being back in the tropical south.“

“This place is a dive but has amazing tasting food, I’m an actual Jamaican born and raised and I support this business on a regular basis. The curry goat is 5star, the chicken soup is 5star, the curry chicken is 5star, actually all of it is good.“

“This is the first time we had Caribbean food and it was very very good. I love the heat and all the flavors. If you want to try something different and want a taste of the islands, this is the place you have to go! We will definitely be back......delicious!!! Need to try everything else on the menu. “Please pardon the bitten patty pics .. i had a big back moment and chomped on them in the car....Went there to try the beef patties and was not disappointed. They are flaky and soft and tasty. I got the curry chicken, jerk chicken and beef. I just wanted a little more chicken filling but that is with most jamaican patties. They taste fresh made not frozen. Will definitely come back to try the entrees and get more patties.“

“The service was great the gentleman name was Bryon he was very smart and on point. He was by himself but he had the right music playing and a smile on his face. My food was great the server suggested I try the j*** salmon with fried rice and cabbage excellent choice. He also mention Patties which I never had before wow they were good. I appreciate his patience because it was serval occasion were people just walked up trying to order while I was sitting down ordering. Overall great experience I’ll be back soon!!!“

“I just ate here for my birthday on Saturday. I have been to Belize and this food took me right back there. The owner Leslie, is from Belize and is very friendly and attentive, as his the staff. Phenomenal food, and large portions. Get the sampler platter for your appetizer, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you are ever in Gardena, you should stop here. Gardena Cinema is a few blocks away, and is also fantastic. The restaurant closes at 7pm, and most shows start at 7:30, so it makes for the perfect evening.“
