⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review for Chon Dak Gardena

Chon Dak Gardena is the late-night food spot you didn’t know you needed! 🔥 From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for something special. The menu is packed with flavorful options, and the portions are HUGE!

I tried the Kimchi Fried Rice, and it was perfectly spicy with that runny egg on top—10/10. The Whole Fried Rotisserie Chicken was insanely crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the dipping sauces (especially the garlic one) took it over the top! The Cheese Beef Bulgogi Fries were next level—cheesy, meaty, and so flavorful. I washed it all down with Peach Soju, which was the perfect balance to the meal.

On top of the amazing food, the staff was super friendly, and I even got to meet the owner, Jenni, who was so welcoming! Plus, they’re open ‘til 2 AM every day, even on holidays, so you already know this is my new go-to late-night spot. If you're in LA and love Korean fried chicken and comfort food, you HAVE to pull up!

📍 Chon Dak Gardena – 10/10 recommend! Can’t wait to come back! 🍗🔥🥂

Chon Dak in Gardena, CA, is a Korean gem that has stood the test of time, serving the community for an impressive 23 years. With a dedicated parking lot and a welcoming vibe, this spot is a fantastic choice for any occasion. The dining area feels cozy yet lively, perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a relaxed dinner date.

The menu is extensive, offering something for everyone. On our visit, we were treated to an array of dishes that showcased the restaurant’s mastery of Korean flavors. Here’s what we tried:
•Roasted Fried Whole Chicken: Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.
•Spicy Kimchi Stew (김치찌개): A comforting bowl with just the right amount of heat and tang.
•Cheese Spicy Rice Cake (치즈떡볶이): A must-try for spice lovers who also crave cheesy goodness.
•Stir-Fried Bulgogi Fries with Extra Grilled Cheese Corn (불고기+콘치즈 감자튀김): This was indulgent, savory, and worth every calorie!
•Kimchi Fried Rice (김치볶음밥): A classic done right with bold flavors.
•Grilled Pork Belly (돼지구이): Juicy, smoky, and simply delicious.

The food was flavorful and satisfying across the board, and the portions were generous. Whether you’re looking for a hearty meal or small bites to pair with their wide selection of alcohol, Chon Dak delivers.

Jenny, the owner, adds a personal touch to the experience with her warmth and charm. It’s clear that she takes pride in making every customer feel welcome.

Chon Dak’s late hours (open until 2 AM every day) make it an unbeatable spot for a post-concert or event hangout—especially after a night at SoFi Stadium. Whether you’re in the mood for beer, soju, or even some makgeolli, they’ve got you covered.

Overall, Chon Dak is a fantastic spot for fun times, amazing food, and stellar service. Highly recommend for your next night out!

Came here after visiting my family in the area. This spot has been here for years, so why not try it now?

Parking: There’s a medium sized parking lot, so finding a spot can be easy.

Ambiance/Environment: You can tell this restaurant has been here for a long time. We were greeted right when we entered. It was empty when we visited at 5pm, but it became more busy during their dinner rush.

Service: Shout out to Jenny! She was wonderful, quick, & efficient. She’s very knowledgeable about the menu. She does speak English, and there were a couple Spanish speaking servers. You’d self order from the tablet and pay at the end.

Menu items:

1) Whole Roast Chicken - I saw this on their social media, so I had to try this also lol. It’s literally a whole chicken. Tasted really good and cooked well. It came with 3 sauces, and it tasted even better. Make sure to dip! This is shareable at least between 3-4 people.

2) Kimchi Fried Rice - My favorite side dish! Sooo delicious! Other than the egg, it doesn’t come with any protein.

3) Bulgogi Fries w/ filled corn cheese - Jenny recommended this to us with corn cheese. Wow! There was a generous amount of bulgogi, and the corn cheese made it even tastier!

4) Seafood & Green Onion Pancake - I love Korean pancakes! There was A LOT of green onions. There were also pieces of shrimp. Could use a bit more shrimp but still good!

5) Spicy Rice Cake w/ ramen noodles - Presentation is on point! There were a generous amount of toppings and sides that came with this! This was a very rich dish. The ramen made it even more fulfilling lol. Make sure to mix everything well!

Pricing: My bf and I enjoyed everything! This definitely satisfied our Korean-comfort-food cravings haha! Everything is shareable between 3-4 people, so I’d say it’s worth its price.

Chondak is a hidden gem that brings those retro early ‘90s Korean pub vibes to life! The food is absolutely phenomenal. My favorite was the 삼겹살 (charcoal-grilled pork belly)—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The grilled kimchi? Game changer. And don’t even get me started on their roasted fried chicken🍗—crispy outside, juicy inside, and made fresh daily with no frozen shortcuts. The house-made sauces are to die for, and the portions are HUGE.

What really makes Chondak a standout is their late hours (2:30 PM to 2:00 AM!) in Gardena—a rarity in an area where most places close by 9 PM. It’s the perfect spot for late-night eats or post-concert munchies after a show at So-Fi. Authentic Korean food, generous portions, and a chill vibe—Chondak is a must-visit! 🍗🔥

Your typical Chicken and Beer spot. One of the only kbars in Gardena. Food is good and the atmosphere is cool as well! Would go back!

Chon Dak in Gardena is an absolute gem for Korean comfort food. The highlight of my visit was the pork belly. It was perfectly charred on the outside and super tender on the inside, every bite was packed with flavor. If you're into rich, melt-in-your-mouth pork, you'll love it! I also tried their rotisserie chicken, which came with three delicious sauces, each adding a unique kick.

I can't forget the kimchi stew with ramen noodles either - it was the perfect balance of spice and tang, with a broth that was rich and comforting.

Plus, Chon Dak is open until 2AM every day, which is perfect for those late-night cravings. If you're in the area, don't miss this place, it's got great food, a chill vibe, and friendly service.
