I tried the green tea pudding and I was blown away. The perfect amount of earthy and sweet. Most green tea in America has no flavour in comparison.

[Review #773]2023-060Food Order:RAISIN STICKS, CUSTARD ROLL CAKEMamMoth Bakery is located inside Tokyo Central & Main on the right with other eateries. I used to shop here frequently when it was Mitsuwa because this location didn't require a membership, & when it did, I stopped coming. Some years ago, they either merged or was bought up & named Tokyo Central & Main. While the shopping plaza has plenty of parking, it's usually packed around lunch & dinner rush, so you may need to park around the corner on the east side of the market.I was meeting a friend & had some time to kill when I noticed MamMoth Bakery. If they're like other Japanese bakeries, their goodies aren't overly sweet, which I like. Most of their baked goods were already packaged/bagged so I question its freshness. My son picked the bag of raisin sticks & I picked a single slice of custard roll cake. The Japanese lady who rang us up was really nice & friendly, suggesting (upselling) other goodies. No thanks... need to try what we have first before coming back for more.At the register, I noticed this unusual balloon-like plant & asked what it was... she only knew its Japanese name so I researched it at home; it's a White Milkweed Tree. It definitely grabbed our attention while we were browsing the racks of baked goods.Once home, M had the raisin stick for his mid-PM snack. He liked it enough but not loving it, so I took a bite. It was a little dry & didn't have that fresh baked taste. Possibly day old? They have ovens to bake onsite but no baking action when we were there, & didn't smell any fresh breads or baking spices like 85°C or Torrance Bakery during baking, or even its neighbor, Beard Papa's; even so, sometimes that scent lingers in the lobby. I did enjoy the slice of custard roll cake. It was good, & the the sponge cake was moist & fluffy. Not an abundance of custard, about 1:1 ratio of filling to cake.Good variety with competitive prices, MamMoth Bakery serves up a variety of baked goods but there are closer options to me that offers better quality treats.Recommended: Custard Cake Roll, Raisin Sticks.

I would say the quality of the egg salad sandwich is pretty subpar. Why does the owner think the quality is acceptable? Its taste really old. Eating an egg salad sandwich here always makes me sick to my stomach and rushes to the bathroom. I don't think any other bread would be a problem though....

Super soft and delicious breads. The puddings(original and green tea) are super yummy!!! The lady behind the cashier register is wonderful and patient. Must try MamMoth bakery if you are at Tokyo Central.

Really delicious Japanese baked goods. I think I've been having some of their items in the SF Bay Area but they were nowhere as good as having them direct from the source in LA -- so much softer, fresher, lighter. Recommended!

I wish I lived in Gardena so I could go to MamMoth Bakery more often. My wife and I buy three loaves of their thick-sliced bread for breakfast toast. Even after being frozen for over a week, the bread tastes fresh and delicious. Also they have very unique Japanese style PAN: one with masago and mayo, another with corn and Japanese canned tuna, and a ham and cheese one. They are delicious and under $3 each. You got to get there early to get the PAN, though. They run out sometimes.

Very pleasant experience with kind cashier. Make you feel you warm and welcomed. Constant and professional manner. Tast of breads seem reflect who they are.

They have a lot of pastries to choose from. I haven't tried all of them but some of the pastries here are decent but I like their white bread the best it's super soft!

The ladies that work there are always SO nice! Love going there. I always buy some savory stuff from the warm case and at least a couple of the choco melon pan. She gives me one free pastry from the day before in my bag. Their pastries are good and their bread so soft. I highly recommend it. They have different hours during Covid. They are shorter and close earlier. They are inside the Tokyo Central on the right when you walk in
