Don’t let the exterior deter you from what they serve. Crazy to think Umemura has been around for 45 years!

EXPERIENCE 1*** (Positive) 07/21/25
My Mom brought me here. This is a place she likes to visit on occasion. Besides Ramen they also have Yakisoba, Rice Dishes, and a few Side Dishes. Mom and I decided to share the Kanitami Chahan and a Side Order of Gyoza. This is a very casual eatery. And, service here is very friendly and easy going.
When our food arrived it was picture perfect. The Kanitama Chahan, which is fried rice layered with a crab omelet covered in sauce, was delicious. And, the Gyoza was a delicate bite, lightly browned and crisp, the filling was light, moist and extremely tasty.
If this type of food interests you, it's worth a visit. There's parking in the back of the restaurant.

This is a go to spot with the family. It’s better to get there right when they open bc it gets full. Food is so good never complained. Big Portions. Affordable. Very chill atmosphere. I’m Vegetarian and love it here.

Fire. Mad flavor, huge portions. 👍
Love the ramen here! Delicious flavor, large bowls. The shrimp fried rice is so light and fluffy! Love the gyoza! Friendly service. This is one of our regular places to visit.
Delicious as always. Portions are a lot less compared to last year. It's especially noticeable because I go only once a year and it's what I look forward to.
Down to earth place, the food is hot and delicious, the service is wonderful and the people are very kind! Would highly recommend.
I have been a customer since 2008!
One of the best low key ramen places in the area. If you are tired of waiting in line, this is a good alternative.

I first came here around 1992/3. I believe it’s the same owner?!?! Ramen is excellent…and huge portion. Their chahan (fried rice) is also to die for. And their gyoza is also excellent. These are the 3 main things I order every time. We moved to the east coast but every time I visit Southern California, I MUST stop here. I’m so happy that after all these years, they still are around.
It is a very small restaurant…but I like it and the food is what I come for, I could care less how small it is.

I'll edit my response if I get a response from the owner.
I've been coming to this spot since at least 2010. Always enjoying the same thing. Miso ramen with Chashu, corn, and extra chopped pork. Recently, well after Covid, they've revised there menu(horribly I might add due to typos, its just bad design) so I go in and now I have to ask for Chashu ramen IN miso broth add corn, and here is the part that gets to me. I ask for extra "chopped pork" and I understand the language barrier makes it difficult but the same lady and I always fight, thats just it we always fight and I am getting sick and tired of it. I tell her can I get extra pork, and she says oh we don't have bbq pork and I'm like no, just add some pork to my ramen, and she looks confused and blinks like a confused child and tells me you want more Chashu? And the situation gets increasingly frustrating....No I want chopped pork. And eventually guess what???? She's like oh chopped pork okay, they charge me extra they add it. So now tell me why I have to go through this entire god damnned process every time I am there to eat, oh we don't have bbq pork, yes I know I want chopped pork extra, oh you mean chopped pork okay we add. I'm like dude what the absolute flip is going on! I've been going now for 15 years this lady is psychologically torturing me at this point because the food is so damn good and yet I do not want to deal with this frustration again. My friend just laughs because we do go there multiple times a year and its always the same. And its just bad business practice, I asked for butter, lady is like oh we don't sell, Dude lady what is wrong with you charge me 5 bucks and give me a spoonful of butter what is wrong with you? PLEASE HELP!!!!!
