I may not know Mexican cuisine, but I know when food is good. And damn, the food is good here. Everything tasted like some old grandma invited you over for a fiesta and she personally cooked everything herself. We ordered the beef and veggie soup for our children. I couldn't stop stealing it for myself! It reminded us of this one Cantonese soup with pork bone, carrots, and radish. This one used beef rib, kinda like galbi tang. The meat was so moist. Service was fantastic, food is also amazing too! We are traveling with young kids and they have options for us as well as non-spicy options for the kids. The kids loved the Cocido de res which was clean with veggie and soft and tender, great portion of beef ribs. The enchiladas was great, everything has a homemade touch - it's a gem.
Where you see the locals dine is where you want to be. The food is excellent. The Chili Verde and salsas are the best I have every tasted. I always stop off in Gilroy on my way to SF. A must. Very lay back traditional Mexican Atmosphere and all the family is working.
