First of all knock wurst not like german 2 inch gremam photo salad no way cashier have 2 feet each way and she ordered you to the right as you are there only customer I tried them 1 year a go not anymore I always go to Sonora and sanfrenado in glendale ❤️❤️
Drove from north Hollywood 30 minutes to Shriners to get their delicious German sausages. I arrived 4:50pm. Shop was closed, lady in shop acknowledged me and didn’t care. I mean if you have opening hours, keep the promise!!!! Last time I’ve been here, super disappointed.
People very friendly and quality of meat good. But, the roll tasted a day or two old and I ended up throwing about 3/4 of it out - barely enough mustard or mayonnaise on there to taste it. Ended up eating the ham and cheese with my fingers. I used to go here years ago and it was always really crowded. Today. I was one of only two people in there and I won’t be going back.
It’s still a great sandwich joint but thanks to California beau o rats the prices are outrageous… ?
I have been visiting Schreiners since at least 1996. I am from Germany and this place brings back good memories for me. It tastes and smells like home. They make a lot of their own sausages and smoked meats here, and the quality is consistently great. They carry a great variety of imported products, from pickles to spices and mustards and jams. They even carry some bath and beauty items that people might be missing from their countries of origin. Also, they serve sandwiches on the side. Great customer service in their deli counter and at the register. It is in a cool little area of Montrose with a bakery next door. There is usually parking out front or on the side of their building, so it is convenient to visit. You can even pick up a German magazine if you're into that sort of thing. I visit here a couple of times a month. I highly recommend you try it. You'll be back, craving for more of their products.
I had lunch there this afternoon. Though the bread was fresh, the sandwich was all bread and very little meat. When I asked to use the restroom they said they did not have one. It is my understanding that restaurants in Los Angeles County are required to provide a restroom to their patrons. I will not be going back.
Wow! I can’t believe I had a hot dog with toppings such as ketchup, mustard, dijon mustard onions no relish & salami & bologna today! Very long time. I had good old meals since I was a kid. Great quality great amount of prices of course dine in! The ladies working inside the store was very friendly. I really like it a lot. Customers must visit there eat lunch & parking a lot outside the street. Very old never closed down since 80’s. I’m looking forward to go eat hot dog & any meal for lunch someday. Super satisfying!!
Many authentic sausages and deli meats. Small section of German pasta, canned products and wine. I was served by the owner, she was super friendly

Been coming here since I was a kid. Inge is still working there too! ?
Pastrami on Rye extra pickles mayo mustard heated with Swiss cheese is the best. Pairs well with a sugar cane soda and a wurst salad.

Well price and tasty, about $9 for the trip tip get it with mayo, BBQ and pickles . I got a side of coleslaw . I did try to purchase one of their German beers but after purchasing found out I couldn't drink on premises so they refunded however I wish the guy told me before hand. They refunded so no real issue . The selection of meats look really good and is a obvious local secret.

Schreiber is a great german Deli. Always try to go there when in town.
On Friday, August 25th, I stopped by Schreiner's to pick up some cold cuts for my family's weekend fishing trip. Because the website listed two different closing times, I called the store. The woman who answered the phone said they closed at 5pm.I was so happy to make it through terrible traffic and walk through the door at 4:50pm. I barely got one foot in the store when the "younger" worker behind the meat counter told me "just so you know, we won't cut anything". When I asked why, it said because they must be out the door at 5pm and cleaning the meat cutter takes time - so they clean it early and then refuse to serve their customers. When I asked to speak to the manager, this cranky "older" worker with a very bad attitude repeated that per the owner's orders, they would REFUSE to cut any meat - even though they were still open. It too insisted that all workers were ordered by the owner to be OUT THE DOOR at 5pm.I have NEVER had such TERRIBLE customer service at any business before. These so called "workers" act like they are providing gold to the public - and the customers should fall down at their feet IF they decide to serve you. After supporting this business my entire life - I will NEVER go back. Due to their extreme arrogance, I was forced to buy lunch meats at the supermarket. This turned out to be a blessing. We had great sandwiches on our trip and saved a lot of money. No need for Schreiner's anymore. Schreckliches Geschaft!
Truly the best ever!!!
