If you decide to give this place a try make sure to expect your food to take a while to make cone out and I wouldn't sit in maddie's section my family and I went there last weekend and it was our servers 23bday and the whole time we where there she was talking and hanging out with her friends who where sitting in her b-day section just talking and enjoying her self our appetizers came out after some of our main dishes salads as well, the whole table had to ask numbers times for whatever we needed. (Refills, side of ranch...) I had to stop other servers and ask for something I wanted it promptly at all. We where a party of 16 but maybe we should of had 2 servers if that was the case it is ridicules to have had to wait for everything we had to we decided to not even waste our time trying to see about dessert instead went to the ice cream place next door. (Really good btw) the atmosphere was nice alot or games on different t.v.s but does it make up for all the negatives no not even close

Family of 4 We ordered 3 of the Taco plates and other plate.Out of 3 Taco plates only 1 was ok to eat. A person should only eat so much salt in a day and when 1 taco plate has so much salt. We sent back 1 of the 3 due to it had more salt that in a week of what I would eat. First time eating here and my last time. I was told the meat is pre mixed but this would not answer to why 3 plates had different amounts of salt. The plate that was sent back was by far more salt than I have ever seen in any food plate. Replaced with one a bit less salt but still some one in the kitchen needs hands off the salt.

The pulled pork sandwich was a bit better than average, you can tell the meat was a good quality. The tots were served really hot and not greasy at all (maybe they air fry?)But the stand out here is the chili. This is in the chili cook off award winning category. It's dark inside, I guess it's an atmosphere choice, but at least they don't have the awkwardly high ceilings that makes places like this way too noisy. We did have to ask for utensils for the salad my friend had, but otherwise they were attentive.

Came here for lunch with a party of 5, we were seated right away. We had wings to share with the table and I ordered the short rib melt. I loved the wings that were naked and crispy. The waitress was so attentive and didn't mind giving us all our own ranch or blue cheese to dip. My short rib melt was just ok, a little dry for my liking despite the dip. The tater tots were super crispy and delicious. My coworkers all enjoyed their meals. Will definitely return.

1/5 star UPDATE (Dec '23): Stopped in at 9:20pm on a Tuesday night after a long journey. I didnt think this would be a problem. The website, Google maps, and Yelp all say they close at 10pm. There was a table of 8-10 people outside and several people having a good time at the bar.Ive literally done all I can hoping for a better outcome with this restaurant. We came in for drinks and maybe see if they could do something simple like french fries or tater tots. At 9:20 normal people like me dont expect a full course meal... but they couldnt even serve us drinks. We were told they were closed and not serving anyone. Didnt look like it to me. THIS PLACE SUCKS.1/5 star UPDATE (June '23): Came in to celebrate my dads 90th birthday on a Saturday afternoon. It was not crowded. We had a party of six and sat in the middle. We were seated within a few minutes. We waited 10 minutes for menus, no one came by, so I ended up getting the menus myself at the entrance. Waited another 10+ minutes for any type of service and then got up and left. We walked over to Frisellas which has similar quality food but better service. This place is hit or miss.4/5 star UPDATE (Feb, March, May '23): Ive been out to eat here a few times now since my first review. Waitresses were attentive all three times, food was pretty good too. Atmosphere = not bad. Its worth giving it another shot.1/5 star REVIEW (2022): I rarely give one star reviews and I generally dont like to give bad reviews. You either have your stuff together or you dont. This place does not. The service was sub par at best and it wasnt even crowded either. Do I really have to wave people down to get a drink or to get my bill? I wasnt in any hurry and just wanted to experience the place. Its definitely not T Phillips and it doesnt feel like an ale house at all. An ale house has a nice rustic vibe to it. This place doesnt. It just feels like anyplace meant for people staring at their smart phones and "consuming" instead of enjoying their time. With the economy on the verge of a serious downturn and the vibe and sub par service I just dont see this place surviving 6 to 12 months from now unless some serious changes are made, but good luck. A helpful note to anyone in management... An ale house menu should never start with... Bud Light, Coors Light, and Truly. I cant believe I even had to type that!

The Stubborn Mule is an incredible restaurant not simply because their outstanding food and drinks but because of their remarkable staff. Courtney and Erica are the most incredible servers we've ever had while visiting any restaurant. They have gone above and beyond when welcoming us on arrival and know our normal orders without asking! They have turned the Stubborn Mule into a place we all look forward to visiting. We cannot express how thankful we are for them and the entire staff at the Glendora location! The staff, food and general ambiance 6/5!

So, this is definitely a shell of it's former self and just the name was changed. Some know this place when it was called T PHILIPS. So, not much has changed here. Still the same mediocre pub food and lack-luster service. When it was T Philips, they had great food (big portions?) that was almost identical to Hero's and Legends in Claremont village (also out of business). However, things have changed and the beer tap selection is limited to a few beer brands. Inside the bar/ restaurant area, they keep the lighting dark and not sure why. Love the outside patio and the overall area of Glendora village. Overall it wasn't too bad, but wish they could have more of a beer tap selection and better quality of staff.

Pro's: Quite a good place to eat and drink, and very reasonably priced. The servers are very attentive and pleasurable to be around. They have a nice beer menu served in ice cold glasses, or mugs, depending on the size of your drink. I always enjoy the food selections. Cons: They have some tables next to the wall, where the reception desk is located, that are a little difficult to eat at due to not being able to pull up the table close enough to properly eat from the tables. The table legs hit the wooden foot rest and need some modifications to allow the table legs to sit under the foot rest. They have a very nasty habit of wheeling large trash cans past where people are eating at tables. This has now happened to me twice when eating there. I suspect they have no way to move those trash cans into the back area without having to wheel them through the restaurant. I'm surprised this hasn't been flagged as a health issue. This somehow needs to be remedied architecturally to allow those trash cans entry to the back area to prevent having to go past clientele eating food at their table, or wait until they are closed. The desert menu is sadly lacking with not much to choose from. Bread pudding, or a variety of Cobbler, or a fruit pie with ice cream, would be very nice options.

We walked in before closing on a Saturday night. Cool staff, lots of TV if you want to go watch the games. The prices are very affordable compare to other places and The food was good.

Wings were over done on this visit. The nachos and bacon cheese fries were great. Caught some NFL games here on the multiple televisions around the dining area.
