“Quite literally the best chi latte I've ever consumed comes from One Fine Day. Amazing customer service--the owner is extremely thoughtful and kind & the general vibes here are so great. 10/10”
“Who knew Tehachapi had such epic Indian food? This is our go-to when we want to eat out and get a nice warm meal to fill us up. Food is great, service is great and you can’t beat how much you get for the price. Highly recommend!”
“Now I must explain. I have traveled far and wide and in California. I've yet to find a better bakery than this one. Or may I say fresh? Excellent pastries and European breads. Outstanding. Yes, there are some that have a very good product but then charge a fortune for it. These are excellent pastries sandwiches. A must stop if you're in the beautiful unique town of tehachapi.”
“Warm and casual, friendly local spot for breakfast. Huge breakfasts that we couldn't finish and took half to go. Love not being in a touristy spot. Sweet decor, loved the low key vibe. I enjoyed my chorizo scramble, my husband's Chile verde omelette was nicely spiced with a good amount of chile. Give them a try if you are looking for a delicious, substantial breakfast. I should have ordered from their small appetites selection! The menu is pretty inclusive of all things breakfast, i.e, pancakes, French toast, omelettes, oatmeal. They have some vegetarian options as well.”
“I've been in Tehachapi for 35 years. I have seen pizza places come and go. With places like Old Town Pizza and TKs pizza here, I would say any pizza place would have to step up the game. We have a lot of pizza places to choose from such as Dominoes to buying a bake at home pie from Walmart. I feel like in order to become a successful pizza place in this town you have to have something else. Well this place is just that. We had an extra large half cheese half pepperoni for the kids, large chicken bacon ranch for the the girls and I. Along with a large anti pasta salad, 12 plane wings and an order of bread sticks. I have to say, I am not surprised that they are still 5 stars out of 46 reviews at this point. The salad was better than any other one I've had in this town. The ingredients seemed to have been cut and prepped after my order. The wings, no sauce, were cooked perfectly. Light crunch on the out side, not soggy and fully tender and cooked on the inside. The marinara sauce and bread was on point. Soft bread and light sauce. And the pizza!!! WOW. I haven't been this impressed since TKs pizza opened. This pizza is definitely a run for the money. Lots of toppings and cheese. And for all this food with a tip only $100 out the door. I ordered 30 min away from the shop and when I got there I was created with a friendly smile and my food was in front of me before I could put my wallet back. Still. They have lots more to try and I look forward to trying what they have. Two brothers pizza in Tehachapi is worth the wait, the price and the cheat day.”
“Besides amazing quality of pies and cakes, the jams are to die for. They have amazing vinegars and honeys, and spices. The customer service is behind amazing. I love this place and more than recommended it to everyone. If you have a sweet tooth or like to cook, swing through and check their huge selection...The gentleman who was running the store at the time was super polite and friendly. He let us taste test a bunch of different things and he told us all about them. I loved the experience.TehachaPIE is an experience all on its own and worth every second and cent.I will be back.Parking: Parking is on the side of the building. A good amount of spaces.”
“With an Italian inspired menu and diner kitsch decor, Papa"s House is a pleasant little small-town restaurant. The staff took pride in their work and the food was both delicious and obviously house-made (not frozen or packaged). It is of the beaten path, but well worth the drive!”
“Tri-tip gyro is definitely one of a kind, ask when you order to cut in half and it’s perfect for two. Order garlic fries with two drinks is a perfect meal for two!”
“We loved this quaint little gem quite literally located on a tarmac. It was a great place to pull up a bench seat and settle into the slow and steady small-town vibe while eating a delicious cold sandwich and watching the air glider planes take off. I recommend calling and asking what the flight schedule is before coming in, if you're hoping to guarantee seeing a glider take off or land. We saw one or two during our time, was really fun to watch! The food was good and people were friendly. They had gluten free sandwich bread, as well.”
“One of my favorite meals in Tehachapi is the Hainan Chicken (rice, cilantro, chicken, carrots, & ginger sauce) it’s a healthy option on the go. The owner and staff are always really nice. Would give 6 stars if I could.”
“I love this restaurant; it's a great addition to our little town. There's nothing I've ordered that hasn't been tasty although I can't seem to get passed the Star Noodle Soup - amazing!!”
“First time at TK as a tourist, all 5 stars across, hats off the chef, Mediterranean pizza, chicken Alfredo, and garlic fries were delish... great customer service, ? ?”
“Excellent chicken sandwich for lunch. Waitress was very helpful. I gave it four stars for atmosphere only because it is quite rustic, but I like the old style a lot. It has quite a history.”
“One of the nicer Starbucks that I've visited. Bonus points for opening on Thanksgiving Day 2023. Driving from the SF Bay Area to Las Vegas can get long and tiring. Luckily, this newish area opened, and right off the highway. The staff on Thanksgiving Day were all smiles and ready to assist. This time around, I got the matcha latte and it was way sweeter than I liked, but got the job done to keep me awake. The spacious interior was clean and inviting. The restrooms were immaculate. Lots of holiday merch for sale. Next time I'm making the same drive and need a pick-me-up, I'll be sure to stop by this particular Starbucks. #3/2024”
“My first visit to Mountain Coffee and I couldn't be more delighted! The shop itself has comfortable chairs and a good amount of indoor seating. I asked about their seasonal drinks, whether they could be hot or cold (you'd be surprised that you can't assume). The barista was friendly and answered my questions. I selected the Black Rose Mocha (blackberry & dark chocolate). Another barista asked if I wanted blackberry whipped cream on it - of course! It was on the sweet side but delicious. And the foam was perfection! I also tried the waffle. It was a Liege style so with crystallized sugar. I haven't had this style in years and it was a pleasant surprise.”
“As we inch closer to the end of the first quarter of this new millennia, one can't help but notice a decline in the overall quality of fast food. Pizza seems to be no exception with the big chains continuing to dominate most of the market. Each year our "Microwave Society" appears to be screaming for more of the same: Bigger, better, faster, stronger. Taste, quality, freshness, consistency, These all seem to take a back seat to the aforementioned. Tip for success? Throw some sauce on cheese bread and zap it in the oven for a quick 30, have it hot and ready for me in that famous brown box and you've got yourself a deal for most Americans. Most Americans that is. For the rest of us, however, there's a few gems out there. Hungry Howies is one of those gems. I can honestly say that I cannot remember having pizza that tasted this good. I have tried four items on the menu and each has been delicious. I won't mention the price, if you're worried about the cost then there's a little caesars down the street. If you work hard and value your health and taste buds like myself, then I highly recommend Uncle Howie's. Take it from a guy who doesn't take the time to write reviews for almost anything. Trust me, this sh*t's fire.”
“Had an amazing breakfast there this morning. The table time was super quick. The time between ordering and receiving your food. The food was plated beautifully. Because the visual of your meal is important. Our server was on top of it. With coffee refills and checking up on our table. One of my favorite places to get breakfast in town.”
“Nice, rustic, BBQ place atmosphere with indoor and outdoor dining. They were very friendly and greeted us as soon as we walked in. The weather was gorgeous so we chose to sit outside. Lots of seating (both shaded and sunny). They had a good selection of meats and sides. We both got the two meat plates (took plenty home), drinks, and Indian Fry bread to share. They provide trays with multiple sauces. It was all delicious. The fry bread was the perfect topper to the meal. We got it with the powdered sugar, butter, and honey and made a not too sweet dessert. This was our anniversary meal and we enjoyed it very much! We'll definitely come back.”
“Great food and service! Amazing people working here. The food is very flavorful and filling!Parking: Not a lot of parking but it is a take out only anywayKid-friendliness: Kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: It is a drive in basically so it is wheelchair accessible”
“Not really wheelchair friendly when a concert is going on but the servers where very friendly and fast. Location is a tucked away hidden gem in Tehachapi lots of beer choices and a small wine list plus a few other options, There are outside tables and 2 heaters, which is where I stayed because no room for my wheelchair much inside where the concert was going on.Started getting too cold for me And not sure, if the taco vendor there is a regular with them.Food was decent. Didn't expect tacos to be $5 each. She also served quesadillas and burritos. Those were $15 each. Meat choices are chicken, asada and pastor. There is one wheelchair accessible parking spot.”
“The staff was very friendly and courteous. Every thing was clean inside. I just would suggest a different recipe for the tacos that I ordered. Staff checked several times to inquire if we were in need of refills for the beverages or anything else.”
“The owner is a good dude who likes and cares about Tehachapi! Seems like things have been tough for this little business, but a lot of folks want them to succeed! I personally love the variety of breweries in the downtown area and often take advantage, especially in the summer months! Also, they've been way more engaging on social media lately so you can engage with the owners much more easily now!”
“Highly recommend this place. Seemed a bit expensive but everything is too expensive these days. Large portions and the service and speed of service are spot on!Parking: Plenty of parking in a private lot.Kid-friendliness: Reminds me of one of the good ol cafe's from the good days.”
“This was a delightful surprise, as we stopped only because of unexpected snow. Everything we had was housemade: the Italian dressing (FAB), the lovely goat cheese bruschetta, fantastic tomato sauce on the veal parm, a delicious veal marsala (not too sweet), and an unusual, but decadent pistachio cannoli. Well worth the minutes off the highway. Lovely service, too.”
“The yummiest and most authentic Japanese food within Tehachapi. I love to share this spot with family and friends - both local and from out of town! Great food and service!”
“This was my first time visiting this brewery, and I wasn't disappointed. Rustic interior and friendly staff. I'm not much of a beer drinker, so she whipped me up a delicious and refreshing selzer drink. And don't miss the taco truck! Delicious!!!! What a fun evening.”
“Came here on a Saturday and it was pretty quiet. They give you edamame along with the wasabi and ginger which was nice. The rolls here are very good! Had the tuna hand roll and lobster roll, both were great!”
“The Best food! Best drinks! Best service! I can't wait to go back for the chicken and rice or for a grilled shrimp kabob! I strongly suggest you stop by if you are ever in town!”
“I really appreciated being able to text them my order and have it ready to pick up on a cold, blustery winter day. We ordered carnitas street tacos, asada nachos, a chicken quesadilla, and a Horchata. Everything tasted great. We'll definitely order from here again.”
“Love stopping by Frosty King every time were in Tehachapi. Awesome menu. A great variety of different things. A locals favorite. Always clean, great food, fair prices, and friendly service ? ?”
