Driving thru town stopped there and it was great. Big selection of food, appetizers and desserts. I ordered the XL Pastrami Sandwich and it was excellent.

We've only done drove thru. The fries are crisp, hot and yummy. The chocolate-dipped cones are a fabulous treat. The service staff are always friendly, efficient and polite. Treating you like you're friends. The prices are more than fair for the portion size and served freshly made. Ordered are always just as it was ordered!

The service was fine and this place is open later than many places in town (other than chain restaurants), but when I went there at about 8:45 p.m. on a Saturday, the dining room was already closed and I had to use the drive through.
The food we ordered (hamburgers and onion rings) was adequate but not the best and the pricing was on the high end.
Not saying I'll never be back, but I'm not in a hurry to return.

While this historic cafe is not much to look at on the outside, it is truly a GEM in the rough on the inside. We stopped by around 3:30 pm not realizing it had closed at 3:00 pm. The staff was so nice and accomodated us by cooking up some great enchiladas! If you enjoy eateries with big back stories and love to eat great food, this is a must when traveling through Tehachapi! It is located near the National Chavez Center.
