Cake Bakery & Cafe

Delightful and well presented bakery and cafe on Mill St. in Grass Valley. On a beautiful fall day before T-giving, we sought them out as a surprise treat for my mother-in-law. Very tasty offerings, and the staff were hardworking and sweet. Also there was ample space to maneuver Nana around in a wheelchair. They are located in the historic Nevada County Bank building.

I have lived on Grass Valley for several years and I can't believe I didn't stop in here!

It is located in a historic building in downtown Grass Valley. So cute inside and very welcoming!

I saw Christine on Good Day Sacramento ( my fav morning show) and I knew I had been missing out on this place for years!

The Croissant was delicious and there was some really delectable treats as well. They also serve lunch and coffee specialties.

It's an upscale place using quality ingredients ! Try their soups when in the area!

Well done Christine! I will be back!

I’ve always loved this place, but the above and beyond that happened the one time my order wasn’t correct and I didn’t notice till I was home, was more than outstanding. 5 stars all day every day

Cake is definitely a gem in downtown Grass Valley. It’s a great place to enjoy an authentic French croissant and a macchiato in the middle of the day, with a friendly staff that greets you the moment you walk in the door. The owner is a sweet lady who always uplifts her customers. One of my favorite places in GV.

We were in town for a just a few days and went to Cake every day!!! We loved the gluten free Morning Muffin so much we kept going back! Christine, the owner, was fabulous and everything we got was delicious...(the Carrot Ginger soup, bran muffin, quiche, Morning muffin, lavender latte and the baguette with sea salt butter were some of our favs!!) Definitely stop at Cake if you are in Grass Valley!

Cake Bakery is an absolute gem in downtown Grass Valley! From the fresh, flaky pastries to the artisan breads baked daily, everything is top-notch. Christine’s creations are both beautiful and delicious—especially the muffins and the vanilla raspberry cake. The lattes are fantastic, the patio was quaint and shaded and the warm, welcoming staff make you feel right at home. We were only in town for 3 days and we ate something from here every day.

Blackberry scone made with fresh blackberries. Delicious 😋. Had a mocha (not sicky sweet) and love that they make their own chocolate syrup. Definitely will come again when in town.

Ordered a custom cake they don't usually make.. It far exceeded my expectations!! Thank you for a wonderful cake & experience. The owner even personally assisted me. The coffee is even excellent here!
