Let me tell you what the locals seem to already know - Charlie's opens when they feel like it. Would be awesome if they posted their true hours but not sure if that's known to anyone.
The owners were toxic and treated staff very poorly.
This place is permanently closed now!

I worked there briefly years ago and it was such a toxic work environment. The owners were not nice, husband belittles & yells at staff, family drama, unhappy couple running the show. Bye Charlie's
Food good but you can overhear the owner belittle his waitress. He was a complete jerk towards her. The table next to us mentioned that he can’t keep cooks. After hearing him berate the waitress, I can see why he can’t keep staff. But the chicken is tasty.
Food portion is good is the only good thing I can say. Wasn't crowded at 9:00 am on a Saturday. We had a Group of 9, took 50 minutes from order to receive food. The food had noooo flavor, Breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy were a BIG disappointment. BTM omelet was good, but you can't mess up bacon, tomatoes, avocado, and cheese. Service was decent, but definitely the not worth the money. Will go across the freeway to IHop next time.

I never write poor reviews, so it's hard for me to write this one but maybe it will prompt some change for the better at Charlie's. Pre-2020 this place was the best breakfast in town. After they reopened several years later it just hasn't been the same. And today's visit will be our last. I don't know what was going on today but we waited over an hour and half for food. No apologies or explanation from the waitresses. And at 12:30 they started coldly turning customers walking in away saying they were no longer seating for the day. Their advertised hours were open till 2pm. A little warmth and effort to communicate goes a long way and would have made the long wait better. Coffee is good (Caroline's), food is tasty although quantity and quality has gone downhill. If you're going with a friend and want to have plenty of time to catch up and talk this is the place but if you have a hungry family, especially kids, I'd skip it.

I have been coming here for years, specifically for the sourdough pancakes, but everything is good. I moved away and still make a trip back whenever I can.

First off the place smells like it has a sewer problem. Secondly the food was gross. The server was not too friendly. Would not go back

Decided to try Charlie's Cafe for breakfast while my brother was in town. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the eggs Benedict with added avocado, my brother got the biscuits and gravy Benedict and my partner got pancakes with strawberries, chocolate chips and bananas. Aside from the food being exceptionally good, it took forever to come out. We were there about 2 hours in total. It was lunch time by the time our breakfast finally came out. If you don't mind waiting forever, the food is worth it. The orange juice is delicious, but comes in a kids' size cup.

This place has an old feel with a modern twist. You feel like you’re in an old greasy spoon but the food is far from that. The ambiance is intentional and so is the food. Got the chilaquiles which was outstanding- my husband got the chicken and waffles which were classic with a high quality kick.
Definitely coming back!

We decided to go have brunch after church. We have to assume they were short handed since there were plenty of empty tables but only 2 ladies working as hostess and waitress. We waited to be seated for over an hour with only 2 parties ( parties of 3 people i each) in front of us. Our overall wait to eat from arriving was 1 hour 50 minutes. The server was nice but not great. We had to ask a number of times for our water and my husband had to ask a couple times for his English muffins.
The sausage tasted locally raised which was refreshing, and the breakfast was very good. The biscuits and gravy were decent but I wouldn't order them again. They lacked flavor.
Again, they seemed short handed, and despite the wait and the mediocre service we would return. We'd be happy to give them another try.
It was nice to eat locally and we weren't in a big rush.
