Came here for lunch. ordered the St.Louis Pork Ribs lunch bbq plate with beer battered fries and cornbread. Got 4 good sized ribs, but it was a bit tough and did not cut easily with just a fork. bbq sauce was pretty good, cornbread was tasty, and the beer battered fries were hot, crispy and so good with ranch on the side. My party had a steak sandwich, which unfortunately was chewy this time, and another ordered the smoked beer can chicken bbq plate, which was more bone than chicken for getting a quarter chicken. it was moist and decent however. the sweet potato fries were good but cooled off quickly. Ambiance is dark but appropriate for a bbq smokehouse, service we got today was excellent. We'd come back again when we crave bbq and are in the Auburn area. A nice surprise is that breakfast is served here, but we were here for the bbq.

We were out for the day to get out of the house. We noticed SGS on our way to Nevada City & decided to have a late lunch @ SGS on our way home. We had a difficult time deciding what to order but decided on the Loaded Broccoli, Bacon & Cheese potato. Huge! Delicious! My husband ordered the Brisket with Mac 'N Cheese & Baked Beans side orders. The best brisket, I've ever tasted. Also, the dry rub Wings with Spicy BBQ sauce. Angel was our server & she was a delight & so kind to our special needs daughter. I have read some of the other reviews & while yes COVID has changed our world & how we live in it, I'm happy that SGS & businesses like it came through on the other side. Some weren't so fortunate. This was our first time to SGS but certainly not our last. Thanks Angel & my thanks to the bartender, my Mule was fantastic! So if you're looking for good BBQ, good service & a rustic setting, check out SGS on Hey 49 in Auburn! Cheers!

Great service and prices. The food is great the staff is amazing. You can tell they treat each other like family. Best place to watch the 49ers on Hwy 49!

Probably the worst bbq I've ever had. Ordered the plater and got brisket, chicken and ribs. Ended up only eating the cornbread. Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes taste like KFC - would have rather had KFC. All the meats were so dry and overcooked. We'll never be back.

Can't even give 1 star. We weren't acknowledged while waiting to be seated and one waitstaff walked right by. Should have left then. Ordered corned beef hash. No warning that it would be canned. I think food would have been decent, other than hash, but it was served luke warm. Butter wouldn't even melt on the pancake. I waited several minutes before any server came into the room. The first one said she'd tell my server. She never came so I told a second one. She still didn't come. We walked on out to register and I proceeded to explain my disappointment when she turned and walked away. I told another server "don't call the cops but we're leaving no one has helped us". Our first visit and our last.

Inedible food! Brisket was green and gray and I didn't even want to give it to my dog! The management had no response tomorrow complaint and just ignored us and handed us a bill. Worse food ever! Only giving one star because that is the lowest rating yelp allows!

Avoid. Very Disappointing. Briquet was tough, ribs kinda gross, Clumpy mashed potatoes. Overall food tasted bland, not fresh, and some was even discolored. When we gave feedback (complained) the manager ignored us and rang up the bill. This place needs a complete overhaul.

Ordered a rib dinner to go, the price on the website was off by 50%. They need to update website or honor the advertised price.

We tried to eat breakfast there this morning... it was literally the worst service I have ever seen at a restaurant... we ended up getting up and leaving without ever ordering. The worst part is they weren't even busy! I think you can do better, Sierra Grill!

Sierra Grill used to be one of our favorite go-to places. It's two minutes from the house and the food used to be fantastic and affordable. Key phrase here being "used to". During COVID they cranked up their prices like every other restaurant in town, and unfortunately those prices appear to be here to stay. Their Grilled Wild Salmon used to be 17 bucks. Now it's 29! And it's a very basic salmon dish you'd expect to find at any BBQ joint specializing in hearty red meat meals. But what really hammers the nail in the coffin is the quality of the food. Last month I got one of my favorites, the St. Louis Ribs. They used to be fall-off-the-bone good. But this time they were so tough I could barely get the meat OFF the bone, let alone chew it. They were truly terrible. Almost thirty bucks down the drain. Last night I gave my other longtime favorite a try, the 14-hour Texas Brisket. Usually this one's cut-with-a-fork tender, but this time I could barely cut the pieces with a knife! They were full of fat and gristle and I finally gave up and threw it all out. Another thirty bucks gone. My wife's Beer Can Chicken was OK but nothing to write home about. And twenty three dollars for half a chicken that's just OK? Never again. Super disappointed in Sierra Grill now. Not sure if they're sourcing their meat from lower quality distributors, changed their cooking methods, changed ownership or what? But with two strikes against and several more less-than-great experiences over the last few months, given their high prices now I'm not willing to give them a third chance. My advice, go find BBQ somewhere else and avoid Sierra Grill. :-(

Absolutely terrible. Steaks taste frozen before being cooked. Asked for sliders with sauce on the side. Sliders came out with sauce on them and cold. Onion rings were cold when they hit the table. We sent the sliders back to get remade with sauce on the side and didn't want the onion rings. Waited forever to not have them come out. I've been in the restaurant industry for a long time and this place is far below par. I Dont recommend. If I could rate lower I would.

I have been here a few times and their food is decent. But the issue I have is the service/staff. Sadly, more often than not the staff has been really rude over the years. I have family members that refuse to eat here due to this. But what made me take the time to write this review is that my most recent experience was something to be concerned about and is not appropriate for a professional business. I ordered my food to go, but while my fiancé was inside waiting for the food, the girls upfront were talking to one another about masturbation. One of the girls did apologize for the others conversation to my fiancé and the other customers also waiting while the other staff members continued talking about their personal pleasure preferences. I did call the restaurant to let them know what had happened and that my finace felt very uncomfortable while this conversation was going on but also because my food order was made incorrectly. I had added some ingredients to my omelette that they completely ignored. When I asked for the manager I was first told they don't have one I can speak with. So I asked for whomever is in charge today and was given to someone who I feel didn't take my complaints seriously. She said she never heard that conversation when she was up front. She did remake my omelette but was rude about it. If I hadn't of paid extra, I wouldn't of bothered for my food to be remade.

This is not a place for service. I cannot review the food as I left before eating. Was seated and sat 15 minutes and never saw a server. They were not slammed by any means. I spent my money elswhere. The one star is a courtesy
