4.5*s. I have come by twice and have been happy with the service and food I got both times. The pan dulce are good. I never got anything that was stale. The first time the kitchen was closed, so no cooked food. The second time, I got there when the racks with the fresh pan dulce were out. I also got an Asada Torta with everything on it. Meat was moist and tender. It was the perfect amount of spicey for me. They DID NOT short the meat and pack it with vegetable filler. Nice even ratio. I gave 4.5* stars because their kitchen is only open from 5 am until noon. If they extend hours, they could pull some business in.

Today I stopped by at 5:30 for bread and the boy who served me was very rude and very ugly, not at all friendly, I haven't been there for more than a year and today I remembered why ? and I definitely won't be back ?

Very good place

Tried the chicken taco & al pastor taco today, and both are amazing. They are very filling, so the price is great. They are both also so flavorful and moist. My husband & I have been trying a lot of tacos in the area, & these have been the best ones so far. Everyone needs to try this place!

The bakery that has everything Excellent place has a variety of teleras bolillo bread and even champurrado

Went for the tamales. They're big and meaty, only had the red Chile pork. The masa was a little crumbly but overall the tamales fulfilled a craving. Had the concha but it was hard, wish it was more fresh. They did have a big basket of bolillos and a small assortment of other typical breads in the cases. They also sell other dishes like tortas, tacos and burritos.

The phone is not a working number. That kind of sucks when you want to order a cake.

Man, those pastries are good. Family-owned at its finest. If you're a coffee-shop type and you've been to Scout more than enough this month, Panaderia Carmelita is a welcome change from your typical San Luis Obispo fare and well worth the drive. We got a classic pan dulce and cheesecake (more custard, but the cashier called it cheese cake). Took them to the public picnic tables by the beach after work on a Friday, and both were superb. The custard cake in particular was just the right level of sweetness- present, but not overpowering. It was a fabulous outing, and our family will be back.
