Fin's Bar & Grill is the quintessential Pismo Beach and Five Cities Experience.
After spending a day at the beach in downtown Pismo, or a day on the Oceano dunes, the best thing we love the most is to drive down the street for the perfect capstone of our Pismo day or Pismo trip.l with a meal at Fin's Restaurant.
Whenever going to Fin's, it's never too busy, the service is always excellent, and the atmosphere is still a little lively sometimes with live music (and the music is never too loud either). Everything at Fin's is truly the perfect experience after a day on the beach, or for a midday lunch break at the beach.
The prices are perfect, the food is super good (with fresh seafood, and other fares for all tastes), and the vibe is perfectly chill but also the right amount of lively.
(Hot tip: if you want a clam chowder bread bowl in the Pismo area, I guarantee that Fin's has the absolute BEST bread bowl in the entire SLO County. The bread is grilled thoroughly to perfection, and they somehow manage to make their sourdough light and fluffy and doughy at the same time.)
We went for lunch and our server was irritated when we asked for 2 separate checks for our party of 10. One of our party was not served their soup or meal and the server argued that we were wrong about how many in our party were supposed to have entrees. The coconut shrimp was mush, only 6 fried shrimp for $26! We had to ask for water refills more than once before our cups were refilled. Worst food & service.

I do not recommend this place. Arrived just after 2 in the afternoon and counted 3 servers, 3 food runners, 2 bussers. Waited 20 minutes without even being acknowledged, had to go ask host for our server to come to us- he barely reacted. The place is half full. Went with my sister and wife who have decades of serving experience- this place needs to do WAY better. Clam chowder gets 1 star as well. Not sure where they get the clams from, if they are pre cooked or clean on site but these are the SANDIEST clams I’ve ever had. Learn how to do a saltwater purge! The server did bring some fries to help with our crying kids which was nice, but at that point it had been an hour since we arrived. From seating to food arrival (calamari platter and halibut tacos) was an hour and 8 minutes. Unacceptable. Halibut tacos were delicious. Calamari was a lot of breading. But, get your staff up to speed!
EDIT: Just got the check and they charged us for the fries they brought! Definitely did not want to add $7 fries to our bill because they are ultra slow to bring out simple food orders 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
