Delicious, long-fermented sourdough with in-house homemade jelly. Yum!

I expected it to be solid, and it still exceeded those expectations by a bit.

Came on a Sunday morning to pick up for a group. We got brioche, biscuits, a baguette, bread pudding, butter cookies, and a coffee cake. Also got some butter and jam as sides. I got there at 8:07 and there was already a line đŸ€Ł

The baguette, brioche, and coffee cake were top notch. Get them and eat them fresh. It just starts your day right. The bread pudding is good, but the chocolate chips on top get a wee bit burnt, so they're a little bitter. Not bad, but be ready for it. The cookies are also great, but not quite breakfast food.

On top of all that great experience, it was cheaper than you'd expect - we got so the stuff above for maybe $20ish.

Would absolutely go again.

I love this bread. Bought 2 baguettes and neither made it home.

Grover Beach Sourdough crafts exceptional bagels that showcase their local-legacy charm. True to their roots, this Central Coast gem sticks to a “this is our way” approach, which adds to their unique character. Their fresh bagels are a standout—crisp, chewy, and full of flavor. However, the breakfast sandwich with linguica didn’t impress. The egg lacked seasoning, and the linguica felt like an odd choice for a breakfast sandwich, not quite matching my taste. While their commitment to tradition is admirable, the breakfast sandwich wasn’t my favorite. Still, Grover Beach Sourdough is worth a visit for their top-notch bagels and authentic Central Coast vibe!

First time. Popped in for a bagel 10am. All out. Got a pretzel. Really nice! Fresh, chewy without breaking teeth. Salted just enough. Would definitely come back.

Haven’t been back for a few years when I recalled how excellent it was even during the pandemic. Drove from SLO one morning just to get their stuff and it was just not the same. The friendly young baker was no longer there, and the selections have become limited. Maybe managers changed. Ah well. One crossed off my list next time I visit the area.

I visited Grover Beach from Los Angeles and stumbled upon this cute local bakery—Grover Beach Sourdough. I’m always on the lookout for good bakeries and coffee when I travel, and this place didn’t disappoint!

They offer small-sized sourdough loaves, which is perfect if you want to try different flavors. I loved that they also had a 3 for $10 deal, so I picked up traditional, garlic, and cheddar. I shared the garlic and cheddar with friends, and they really enjoyed them. I tried the traditional one myself—it was chewy but not too hard. The sour flavor really whets your appetite. I could even taste a subtle hint of honey in every bite!

Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area and appreciate quality bread.

An extension of spoon trade, they continue on in the same quality in all aspects. Great for a quick bite or to pick up some sourdough

Their bread is beyond delicious. Baked fresh every day. If you're there early enough, try their breakfast goods. They tend to run out due to their extreme yumminess.

Hi Brooke and Jacob!
We had the pleasure of meeting you at Kiko on Monday and it was just our luck because otherwise we wouldn’t have known to come out to Grover Beach to check out your bakery. As soon as I saw biscuits and gravy on the menu swinging by was a non-negotiable! Truly, no hyperbole: best biscuits and gravy. Really great meeting you both and we’ll definitely be returning to the bakery and checking out the Spoon Trade next time we’re in town. 👏👏

I don't know what the hype is all about. It's okay. The biscuits and gravy were good. The egg sandwich had no flavor; you're better off buying an Egg McMuffin at McDonald's. The service was okay in the beginning, but when we came back and asked for our jalapeño cheddar sourdough, one of the workers snapped, saying they don't sell jalapeño. She was right about the jalapeño part, but regardless, instead of simply correcting us, she was mean about it and walked away. Someone else stepped in and gave us our bread they forgot to give us in the 1st place.
