Excellent food and service during a late lunch with my parents. I got the number 3 combo with the chille relleno, crispy taco cheese enchilada, tamales, beans and rice . Everything was super tasty and saucy tender. Couldn't eat it all so I took it to go and had a great supper. For me this is definately a classic California Mexican cuisine experience for sure, loved it.
Always great, authentic Mexican food and attentive service. The history lesson on the walls is fascinating. Get the owner, Rosa, if she's there, to tell you more. Poncho's Hideaway in the back is a fun little bar, but also nice place to sit and eat.

I make it a priority to go to La Simpatia whenever I'm in town. The tamales are awesome, the beans are the best anywhere and the tacos are the same as I've been eating my whole life. This is the best authentic Mexican food. Can't wait to go back next time I visit.
