Tokyo Lobby Restaurant

Eh, ok food. Again with tge cafeteria atmosphere with all open concept with led lights! I don't understand why more restaurants are steering towards that cafeteria dining experience. I want to eating relax not feel like I am about to perform surgery on my food!

The restaurant changed over the years. Once it was an old astatic dimly lit Japanese paper lanterns now a bit too modern atmosphere that’s lifeless compare to it once was. But at least the food hasn’t change in terms of quality and been going to this location since I was a kid.

One complaint, kinda weird hearing nothing but country music in a Japanese restaurant. It makes eating dinner sound depressing.

Tokyo Lobby...where do I even begin? This was my favorite restaurant growing up in San Gabriel, and when that location closed, I was so relieved to find out there was still one in Hacienda Heights. I’ve been coming here for years now, and it continues to live up to the nostalgia and more.

The customer service is consistently amazing. The staff is so friendly, accommodating, and attentive. The food is prepared quickly, and you’re rarely left waiting for a table, even during busy times. Every dish I’ve had has been fresh, flavorful, and just downright comforting. I’ve never had a bad experience, whether it’s with the quality of the food or the service.

What makes this place even more special is how reasonably priced everything is. In a time where eating out is getting more and more expensive, Tokyo Lobby remains an affordable, delicious option that doesn’t compromise on quality.

It’s a rare find these days...and one I hope sticks around for many more years to come.

The food here never disappoints! Whether you're getting sushi, cooked meats or ramen, their food is always cooked to perfection and leaves you wanting more!

Service has always been great, however recently, it's taken a really bad turn. My family and I walked in on a Sunday afternoon around 3:00 and was seated after waiting for only 10 minutes. However, after that was just disappointing. It took a server 20 minutes to come to our table to ask for our drinks and orders. Our sushi orders came out in a quick 10-15 minutes, but our hot food took 50 MINUTES to come out. In between our food coming out, no one server came out to refill drinks, ask how we were doing, nor let us know about our food. Once it finally arrived and we finished our delicious food, we waited patiently for a server to come back with the check, when then after 45 minutes and seeing multiple get up and go to the take-out counter to complain, did we only do the same thing to pay and walk out. WE WERE THERE FOR A TOTAL OF 3 HOURS.

I'll continue coming here for the amazing food, but management NEEDS to do something about their customer service. It's downright unacceptable. Management, please note that just because 2 massive parties were dining in your restaurant, DO NOT NEGLET all your other tables. All the servers were tending to the bigger parties and rarely checked in on the smaller parties.

First time coming here and I was impressed by the lounge vibe, really awesome! Our waitress was really cool, wish I had gotten her name and service was pretty good! I ordered shrimp sushi and the teriyaki beef and chicken and all I can say is WOW! The sushi was pretty good but what blew me away was the teriyaki! The chicken was soft and the beef was just right! The teriyaki sauce from here is one of the best I’ve ever had and the food was so flavorful! If I can give it 10 stars I would! Definitely coming back again!

For our family of six, we ordered a Happy boat and three dinner combinations. Food was good. Service was very good. We like Tokyo Lobby because we like Japanese food and they have plenty of seating for our family.

This is the first sushi restaurant I went to in the early 80's. I was not excited about "raw fish" but i was pleasantly surprised at how delicous Japanese food is. We still drive from Riverside to eat at this non chain restaurant. The service is always fast and attentive, and the food comes out consistently delicious. 1 star deduction for 40 year old decore.
