We went early & were in our favorite seating area for lunch. Ordered shrimp tacos & calamari. Calamari was crispy, lightly battered & not greasy. Great tartar & cocktail sauce. The shrimp tacos came fully dressed with a wonderful ranch sauce- Guacamole, beans & salsa on the side were home made & delicious. Portions are always very generous.
Great service all around. Erik (with a “k”) took excellent care of us & accommodated all our little quirks with a smile.
May your experience here be as great as ours!
Pet friendly outdoor seating in abundance. Good parking. Wheel chair accessible.
Kid/family friendly

Good food, good service, nice outdoor seating area. Menu could do with a few more plant-based options but there are a few that are/can be made vegan

The remoulade overwhelmed the flavor of the dungenous crab roll and the bun was very hard so didn't love that since it was $32 and listed as a signature menu item. Also when you make coleslaw it needs to be sweet or savory but tasting like nothing is not an option. Pick a flavor and go with that. The portion of coleslaw was big but tasted like nothing. The clam chowder was acceptable but still lacked flavor and was much too thick. I know it's hard to keep creamed soup around without it getting too thick but it can be done. I have had 3 chowders now since we have been in the area and none of them taste as good as the one I make at home (subjective I know). The sweet potato fries were delicious and my husband had a great cheeseburger. We both had the IPAs and they were very good as well. Service was great and atmosphere was fun and casual.

I can see why this place does not have 5 star rating. They have more room for customers outside than inside. We were going to Barbara’a’s Fishtrap but due to unforeseen technical difficulties, Barbara’s was closed so we decided to come here instead. We had a choice between waiting 30min for indoor seating or immediate outdoor seating. Good thing we sat next to a heat lamp. Service was quick. We ordered the clam chowder, nachos, Caesar salad, and steamed clams along with our tea. Each salad was enough for two people. Kinda wish they told us ahead of time. Hubby ended up throwing most of his away. Good nachos. Chips were not the kind you get from a grocery store. However, it was a “nacho”. Nothing unique. The clam chowder was ok. Though our server recommend it and even said it was better than Barbara’s but not in my opinion. The salad was ok. The steamed clam though was good but portion was made as an appetizer. Our server was pretty busy so he forgot our orders a couple of times but A for effort. Will we return? If Barbara’s was closed again for some reason.

Quality food: B+
Quality service: B+
Price: $$-$$$

Recommendation: definitely try the steamed clams. Portion size is an appetizer but very tasty.

I transport all over the country stopping at new places to eat along the way. I sat at the bar and was not impressed with how it felt things were not being cleaned properly. Ceviche was cold but had a strange taste. Fried pickles were my favorite wich I would get again. Clamps chowder was also well flavored but could use more clams. Lighting in the place was uninviting and drove me crazy. Made me want to leave more then enjoy the atmosphere. Flood lights are not the way to go and too bright.

Waited in line for Barabra's Fish Trap but it was over an hour wait. So we went across the street to HMB Brewery. Had the fish and chips, and wow, it was probabaly the best fish n chips I have ever eaten! The batter was nice and crispy and the fish was cooked perfectly. I felt like they just filleted the fish right in the kitchen and cook it up. It was amazingly fresh! I still dream about it.

All the seafood was massively overcooked. They brought me another dish and it was even MORE overcooked ?
I lost my appetite. The clam chowder was genuinely bad. The chairs made our backs and butts hurt.

Most of the meal was comped and then we left.

Clam chowder is very flavorful. Battered prawn and fries are so good. The battered fish crust is very thick.

This was a take out order. First I should’ve noticed a drink was missing and I drove back to get it. second was there was no tartar sauce put in my bag to go with the seven pieces of fish n chips meals we had. Fish was bland and nobody ended up eating them. I’m sure they would’ve tasted great with the sauce, but who eats fish n chips with out the tarted sauce!
