Mezza Luna Restaurant

Our favorite birthday meal and tradition Great service and food in a lovely restaurant that so many locals go to that tells you its a gem

We dined at Mezza Luna on a Tuesday evening. It was not too busy, but business was steady. My husband had the meat special (Pork cutlet scallopini with morels, seasonal vegetables, and potato strata, and I had Farfalle Genovese (pesto sauce). We also had a starter of calamari fritti. Without hesitation, I must say this was the best meal we've had in a very long time. The quality of the food was spectacular. Everything was prepared with care and seasoned to perfection. The wait staff were lovely: attentive without hovering. I had a glass of thene-the perfect pinot noir. My husband tried one of their signature cocktails, the Strada (or something like that), which was delicious. We dined elsewhere the next night...and we wished we had returned to Mezza Luna. We'll be back!

The octopus and swordfish carpacio was fantastic. Dinner service was excellent Wonderful experience for our anniversary.

Disappointing dining experience. Apparently ran out of potatoes (rez was 6pm) and swapped polenta without any mention beforehand. Only 1 of 6 of us had a decent meal. Crunchy onions in pasta Primavera. Very undercooked meat. Service was also unimpressive. Not worth the prices!

The waiters at Mezza Lina were very professional and very good! The food was delicious! I had lamb chops which were tender and delicious.the Dos tacos are very good- it was an extremely pleasant experience.

The lasagna with their meat sauce was delicious! The fettuccini alfredo was good but the chicken added to it was tasteless and akin to something in a can (or boiled). They should consider grilling it or skillet frying it with some seasoning. The service was excellent and we would eat there again if ever in the area.

Great food in a nice environment. Lamb chops are incredible with subtle flavor and very tender. Wait service wasn't the best this day but last visit service was quite good.

The food is delicious. The service was great. The ambience was very nice and relaxing. The price of the meal was very reasonable. I look forward to returning.

Our experience was mixed. The table service was excellent, the ambiance at a favorite place to eat lunch or dinner was its usual comfortable and calm. We expected the same excellent food we had previously had. Our disappointment at receiving two items on the special list and finding them not at all acceptable was the problem. The Greek salad was nowhere authentic with the feta cheese diced from a block, not crumbled, no oregano that could be tasted. The spaghetti with pork cheeks had no herbs that could be tasted either, was bland and had very little meat in the serving. We were credited with the spaghetti dish, which was very considerate. That took some of the edge off our sour feelings. Returning to this restaurant in the future will involve a lot of trust.

Excellent service, Awesome food! We will be back! Started with homemade garlic bread and the Calamari which was cooked to perfection. I then had the Linguine Della Baia, my wife had the Samon allá Dólares. Both were delicious and the portions were very generous. The ambiance was warm and refreshing.

Menu offers a good choice of dishes. Can't go wrong with their pasta dishes. Had the calamari dore — tender with a white wine sauce.

It's a lovely establishment, and we plan to visit often. The food is amazing. The ambiance is excellent. Prices are very reasonable. The table service was attentive, without being either hovering or absent. Even the noise level was surprisingly pleasant - despite having to listen to "Happy Birthday" no less than 4 times! The only detraction was the initial greeting by the hostess(es). They couldn't have been more complacent or unwelcoming. The restaurant was not particularly busy, and they were efficient, but certainly not rude or curt, just not what I'd call warm or welcoming. Not a great first impression. Other than that, it was a lovely meal.

The service and food was fantastic. Mezza Luna is our go to restaurant for special occasions and nice lunches.

Mezza Luna Restaurant is the most wonderful restaurant on the Half Moon Bay coast. Beginning with the greeters at the door and the willingness to accommodate changes in party size and if you happen to arrive early or late, you know your experience will be one of a kind. The restaurant itself is beautifully appointed with ample table room for a party of 2 or 10. Expect to be welcomed by both the waiter and the bus persons. A lovely view of the harbor and bay is visible from most everywhere as tourist and residents alike enjoy the afternoon strolls. But the food is the star of the show! The menu has ample selections from Italian fare, but do not pass up a chance to enjoy the fresh fish of the day. "Melting Moment" was my guest's reaction to a recent visit. And I could not agree more. Do not pass up the opportunity to visit Mezza Luna Restaurant. You will long remember the experience and join the local who make this restaurant their first choice for a evening they will lone remember.

Great food..great service..great atmosphere!!!! Nothing more to say! Mezza Luna never lets us down. Always the best!
