As I've stated before, our go to place. We're here almost weekly for lunch or dinner. The food is consistently delicious. Today, we splurged and each had a dessert rather than share one. Husband had the beignets and I had the special mini apple pie with vanilla gelato. My thoughts? We should splurge more often. Mezza Luna my heart with the best waitstaff.
Great food and experience. I actually think the bar area is better than the main dining area. If you're trying to be romantic request a table by the fire place. Also perfect if u have kids. Kids can be them selves and no one cares. Makes it easy for the parents.
Our party of four arrived on time to a full lobby of walk-ins waiting for tables, but we were seated within 10 minutes at a lovely round table for six in the corner with windows on both sides. Our waiter, Roberto, arrived within minutes and took our drink order, allowing us time to browse the menu. He must have been watching because as soon as the last person put down their menu, he was there to take our orders. The food was excellent as usual. It was a fun night with at least 11 birthdays in the main room, including my husband. It was a restaurant full of people celebrating, so it was festive.
Great place to visit and enjoy Italian food! Excellent customer service and tasty meal.
Rest room is clean, so that’s a plus!
I wish they would wear name tags so I could properly address them.
Anyway, our server was the guy wearing braces- he is polite, professional and also attentive. Great customer service.

we were seated quickly. Initial impression and specials presented / good. A large birthday party was going on and they accommodated us with a nice corner table. Table for two. The seafood entrée - a black cod was decent. A little dry. The broccolini al dente done perfectly. The veal dish was greasy. Too much batter. More batter than veal. Disappointing. We were only there an hour and halfway done when the waiter was trying at least on two occasions to take our plates away. We kept indicating that we had only been there short while and we were going to take our time. The third time he came by to ask about dessert and if no dessert did we want our check? - I'd had about enough. Someone needs to speak to the waiters about not trying to rush folks out. I realize there's a desire to turn over the tables, but this was a little too much.
Food was so so after waiting for more than 45 mins. Very disappointed in the service. And for the ambiance, they stuck us is the back corner where we had the view of the kitchen while they cook, not a good look out on a date. So out of 10, i give it a 5. And will not be back for a while if ever.
My cousin‘s wife was born and raised in Italy. And when she first came up to Northern California 20 years ago to visit me on the Coastside, we went to Mezza Luna. She said it tasted like the food from her home, the kind of dishes that her mama would prepare. So every time she visited, we'd go there. Last night her adult granddaughter visited me for the first time, and I took her to Mezza Luna, her grandma's and my favorite Italian restaurant. Because she wanted to try several dishes, We shared the calamari, the heavenly gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce, and the delicately cooked salmon in white pepper sauce. We ended the dinner with tiramisu, espresso and cappuccino. We are both still reveling in the meal. So now, Another generation now agrees and is a believer in the delicious, authentic Italian food served at Mezza Luna.
Mezzaluna was a favorite for several years. However, of late, the cooking appears in decline. A pizza we had yesterday lacked flavor. Large strips of prosciutto were draped over the pizza from one end to the other making it difficult to extract pieces without pulling entire strips of prosciutto along with a single piece. The linguini with vongole also lacked flavor and the clams few in number. A Caesar salad was terrible. Not very fresh greens covered with a thin white sauce rsther than the creamy, but not too thick Parmesan dressing that characterizes a good Caesar. And the croutons were a horror appearing a strange cigar shape with an orange tint. Likely straight out of some box from Costco. Second bad meal in a row. Hope they can turn things around but, for now, I would not recommend. Should say that the service remains friendly and attentive and the room is good.
Had pasta w seafood and pasta was overdone - not al dente. Seafood was alright but not outstanding. Sauce was flavorful.
Oct 2025. Good service and ambience. Homemade bread was great and special tartufo pizza were good, however angel hair pasta dish was bland and very underseasoned.

We had an incredible experience at Mezza Luna! From start to finish, the team was so easy to work with and went above and beyond to make our event perfect. We booked a private room, and they were extremely accommodating and flexible with all of our requests.
The menu was fantastic — everyone loved the food! The appetizers were a hit, the drink options were great, and every dish was delicious. The staff was attentive and kind, and the entire experience, from the service to the space, was flawless.
We’re already planning to book again for our next dinner in October 2026. Highly recommend this restaurant for any special event or group gathering — they truly deliver an exceptional experience.

We are from Texas and every year when we come to the half Moon Bay pumpkin festival, we make it a point to have dinner at Mezza Luna. It is so delicious and it's part of our annual vacation.
