The chosen one was a lot of food, enough to share with one, but so good.

Fun family vibes! Delicious bbq chicken for the family F-S. Kids could not stop eating and enjoyed some ice cream to follow. Staff are super friendly. Will be back!

Great experience. Food was very good, portion was good (not too much and not too little), and price was reasonable. Eat outside at the bar. Would recommend.

Very cool spot. Feels like you accidentally walked into a backyard, and promptly got invited to join the party. Food is simple Hawaiian teriyaki, but hits the mark. Couple beers on draft, few more in the fridge..nothing fancy, but great little hide-away type of place that makes you feel like you could be anywhere in the world.

I really enjoyed eating here and relaxing in the back yard! My husband is Hawaiian and loved the food here. So did I! We went to the summer BBQ from the city on a Saturday evening with our dogs! XO

Best food on the coast hands down! Not only is the authentic food that’s made fresh daily amazing, the staff, the environment, the atmosphere of that whole restaurant from inside to the outside garden area give you and your family a wholesome coast welcoming. On top of that, you get the feeling of being on an Hawaiian island at an authentic Hawaiian restaurant filled with ohana. I’ll definitely be eating here all the time.

I discovered Nanos by accident on my first trip to Half Moon Bay Pumpkin festival last year 2024. I usually don't go to BBQ restaurants because my family can do barbecue whenever we feel like it at home.

But after my wife and I tried their BBQ tri tip and chicken, their spam masubi, and their macaroni salad, we became hooked and said the next time we come to Half Moon bay again, we will definitely come here.

The 2nd time we went to Nanos again was in early January 2025 and the owner Nano greeted us like we are first time guests and was very hospitable. He was generous enough to give us a sample of his pulled pork to try in addition to our order. It was very tasty.

To drive from San Francisco to Half Moon bay is a long drive especially when you are driving on a one way road with sometimes a lot of traffic. But the drive was worth it every time I visit Nanos.

Now this time July 4, 2025, there was a parade and small festival. So I took advantage of this opportunity to visit Nanos again (my 3rd time) with my wife because all I can think of is their BBQ chicken and tri tip steak which were always marinated to perfection. The combination of sweet and salty flavors and a hint of ginger had me salivating every time.

I told Nano on July 4, 2025 (Independence day) that I promise to write an excellent review about his restaurant and here it is.

I am not normally a BBQ person because I prefer either Chinese food or Mexican when I eat out. But, OMG!!! You guys got to try their BBQ!!! It is worth the drive out to Half Moon bay.

As it turns out, Nano's son was working there as cashier this time when I went. The owner Nano told me jokingly that he decided to put his son to work. LOL.

In the out door patio where my wife and I ate, there was a congratulatory banner with photos of his son's most recent graduation and football trophy photos. Check out my video.

well apparently they only have a tri-tip and chicken barbecue and it's technically we don't call it barbecue that's teriyaki but the macaroni salad only had flakes of carrot there was no salt pepper All I can taste was mayonnaise so I had to add some things to make it taste good I didn't want the rice cuz I'm not a big rice heater but for 70 it was $16.99 for the tri-tip bowl they gave me plenty of meat but it was like cut squares and I've never had tri-tip I thought it was supposed to be sliced or whatever but I guess they did the best they could not impressed won't go back.

Nano’s Hawaiian – Chill Vibes and Great Hospitality

We stopped by Nano’s Hawaiian just looking for a quick bite—some musubi and a drink—but we ended up staying longer than expected because the place had such a warm, homey feel. We first sat out on the patio, which felt like hanging out in someone’s backyard. It was nice and comfortable.

Later on, we moved over to the bar, and I’m so glad we did. Everyone there had this laid-back, welcoming vibe—like being part of a big, friendly family. To top it off, we were offered a Hawaiian drink on the house, which was such a nice surprise and really showed how generous and kind the staff is.

Whether you’re just dropping in for a snack or want to relax for a while, Nano’s Hawaiian is definitely worth a visit. It’s the kind of spot that makes you feel right at home

There’s not enough 5 stars for me in these reviews… I’ve gone here 3 times with different family members & friends. It’s become a go to spot in Half Moon Bay :)

I miss Hawaii and whenever I come here and sit on their patio eating their delicious food it takes me back and it’s like there’s a little piece of Hawaii in California. The chicken bowls, shrimp bowl and the 2 for $9 spam masubis NEVER disappoint. Not to mention the best and kind service it was so sweet hearing them play reggae and talk about how much of a beautiful day it was while serving us yummy food. Thank you guys! Will come back soon in the summer xx

(p.s to the guy complaining they were closed on Tuesday god forbid they have a break in the middle of the week! lol ppl forget humanity. I won’t take it for granted! Aloha!)
