Great (albeit expensive) pasta; lovely setting. As for the non-pasta dishes, can be hit or miss. Pizza - paper thin, like eating a large bland pappadam with tomato sauce. The tiramisu, disappointing. The spinach asparagus purée with dumplings-tasty.

The best pasta I've had by far! Their pasta is made in-house, and you can tell! We ordered the short-rib agnolotti, lasagna, & Bolognese, and were blown away by the taste and quality of each dish. I cannot say enough good things about Pasta Moon!

Landed here for my birthday dinner and it was absolutely amazing. Food 10/10. Ambiance couldn't have been cooler -pianost playing 70s singer/songwriter rick music. Just an all around great experience.

Everything we are was excellent! The dessert was spectacular. My wife said her favorite ever at 56 years old. Layers of lemon custard, passion caramel sauce, lemon sorbet, topped with a toasted Italian meringue.

We’ve been going to this place every time we’re in Half Moon Bay, but the quality doesn’t seem as good as before. We tried the mussels and were very disappointed. The pizzas are delicious, but not as good as they used to be. The same goes for a few other dishes. Still, it’s probably one of the best options there.

The clam chowder was really good, although it was a little bit more soup-based than I'm used to but was still marvelous. I highly recommend. The pizza was very good. I completely enjoyed the crust but my two friends thought it was strange.

Always exceptional, every detail thought out and executed perfectly.... The live piano music in the background was quite a treat. Pasta Moon is still my favorite restaurant!!!

It's the worst.
My card was charged more than the actual tip amount that was listed.
Despite asking for a refund, I was not only not apologized for but was ignored.
I was charged more than the amount I listed as a token amount, which is a scam.
Please be careful everyone!

So Pasta Moon has been a long hyped destination in HMB that we finally got to try. They had moved to a brand new large location that renovated a barn or depot. The ambience is great. High ceilings in a rustic wooden structure, plenty of lights, comfortable chairs, etc. Compared to their previous spot, it must be at least 4~5 times larger.

The highlight is obviously the handmade pasta. And the pasta, tagliatelle, linguine, etc., do not disappoint. They give a home-made texture, they're very hearty, and again, you can feel that this isn't your commercial everyday pasta whther made in Italy or local.

And to make things absolutely clear, the tagaliatelle bolognese is phenomenal. It is simply made as if your mother would. With love, with hearth, and warmth.

The issue is with everything else. The wagyu beef tartare didn't feel fresh. The salad greens were soggy as if they were prepared early in the day. The mussels were a bit too lukewarm and fishy. Something didn't feel right. And we had entered around 5:30pm so all of these dishes must've been prepared ahead of the opening at 5pm or even the day before. The lasagna was good as the sheets of pasta again were quite well made. But mixing lasagna with Italian sausage that had a bit of spice again threw things off. Ahi Tuna linguine also didn't have much taste in the sauce.

It is very clear that Pasta Moon is overhyped. As it scaled with the reputation and fame, they have failed to keep up the quality of the food. They are focused on serving tables fast to rotate the tables throughout the night, and hence pre-preparation of the dishes are lowering the quality of the food.

The one thing that is still keeping them going is the genuinely hand-made pasta. We appreciate that. But then, when you charge $40 per plate of pasta, it better me mindblowing. And other than the tagliatelle, it fails to do this.

I was happy to see Pasta Moon absolutely filled with the waiting area overflowing which means crowds are still coming through. But it certainly is not a 4.5 star destination. I hope they're able to address the freshness, go back to basics and their initial spirit.

The ribeye was delicious and the steamed mussel appetizer was exceptional. Prices a bit high, the old fashioned was $18. Our server Sam was friendly and terrific.

My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner at Pasta Moon. The food, service, and atmosphere were just right (Maria C., our server, was delightful). We'd recommend this place for anyone who wants a nice, quiet night out for dinner.
