I was visiting SoCal and wanted some good mexican food. When I was looking at places, this place had some really good comments so I decided to go. La Gordita is a very small place, A rated, and only accepts cash. I ordered Chili Verde, the portion was generous and it was fantastic, the meat was very tender and the rice and refried beans were great as well. This is a small family run business and I would highly recommend La Gordita. Great job!!

I decided to try this place out cause I was craving Mexican. After arriving, I was greeted by the sweetest man ever. He was a one man team and boy were his prices so affordable. This place is CASH ONLY though so make sure to have some on you. I decided to give this place a shot and after ordering, he went off to the back and cooked my meal. It took only around 10-15 minutes. I ordered a Wet Chicken Burrito and Steak Ranchero. It came with Chips and Salsa and Rice and Beans. The smell and aroma was oh so delicious and I drove home to devour it. Both of those dishes were amazing and I would definitely recommend anything here. The meals were decent sizes for the price and tasted like any other Mexican Restaurant. All and all, I would definitely come back and try other things on their menu. If your nearby, I highly recommend coming here and giving La Gordita a shot.

Well, I decided to give Gordita's another shot so when my wife asked if I wanted lunch after her meeting, I suggested we try this place again and try their burritos since they seemed to be a popular choice. She ordered the Chile Relleno burrito while I ordered the Chile Colorado. As I hear happens quite often, they had no guacamole and asked if sliced avocado would be okay so I went with that even though I would have preferred the guac. When my wife returned, we opened out containers and everything looked good but I didn't see my avocado. My wife suggested I cut open the burrito and sure enough it was placed inside. The burrito was definitely better than my previous combo last visit but I still didn't get why so many people think the food is the cat's meow. Don't get me wrong, it's good and definitely a good deal but it's not exceptional which is what a 5 or 4 should be. It's a cut above Taco Bell or other chain restaurants but I think 3 and half stars is what it deserves. There just isn't anything that makes it special. My wife also felt her burrito was...good but nothing to jump up and down about. The meat in the chile colorado was tender but the sauce was rather bland. The portions are reasonable so value wise, it's a good buy. If you're hungry, I wouldn't discourage anyone from eating there but it's not that four star that you'd drive out of your way to try. The owner is very nice so service is on the plus side. But 4.5 rating? Naw.

I like to support local businesses so I finally have given this place a try last month. This is definitely a hole in the wall for a quick Mexican food fix. The store was pretty empty.. though I was welcomed by an old man at the counter, he was delightful to talk to. I was surprised how the food was not made fresh... it's just prepped in styrofoam container he put the cheese on top with no gloves on.. and tossed it in the microwave! When I got home, the styrofoam melted into my food. I'm pretty sure the styrofoam they used isn't microwave safe? I got the enchiladas and they weren't even heated through all the way I had to reheat it at home. I gotta say, the flavor was pretty good but the quality could be better with a few minor changes. The chicken had a rubbery texture probably cause it's been reheated a few times already. Overall this place has potential!

Bless this little old dude's heart. I came in with a somewhat large, very specific order late yesterday afternoon, and they were out of a couple of things that I had come to order. Under normal circumstances, I admittedly would have been irritated by this, but the man behind the counter who I believe is the owner (and definitely one of the cooks) was so authentic and apologetic. We ordered chile relleno (sold out -- he shared that his wife only makes 50 each day), shredded beef wet burritos, carnitas wet burritos, chicken enchiladas, and guacamole. Saying guacamole made the man immediately hesitate -- he had to double-check his avocadoes. He proceeded to grab a produce bag filled with half a dozen avocadoes and squeezed every single one. No dice, he had just bought them today, but he would give me his softest avocado no charge so we could still top our food with it if we wanted. Guys, my heart melted. All of the food was delicious. Haters gonna hate the microwaves, but this little man and his wife in the back were hustling and all of the food was delicious. It definitely felt homemade. Don't come expecting some gourmet experience, you're in an abuelo's kitchen now. Comfort food for the win at a super reasonable cash-only price. We will definitely be back, earlier in the day, to try those limited release chile relleno.

I finally tried this place and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the Machaca & Egg Burrito (w/ mild salsa) and It's the best in town! They offer mild or spicy salsa and thats a plus for me. The owner is so friendly and told me he's been there 30 years! I'm definitely coming back!
