Tasty fresh black coffee, peppery refried beans, and the right amount of crispy and soft machaca and eggs.

This quick stop turned into a wonderful family style diner where you can sit back and enjoy your meal and put down your phone for a little while.

The refried beans really tied my machaca plate together. The little bit of spiciness and black pepper pops and it reminded me of bean and cheese burritos growing up.

I really enjoy trying all the old school diners and restaurants in southern Alameda County! Anna's is super cute from the outside, in a small building with a long Scandanavian-style eave and a decent-sized parking lot. Inside is a mix of older brown booths and tables. Service is prompt and friendly.I opted for Alan's omelette, minus the mushrooms, and thought the eggs very well cooked. More filling would be nice, but the sprinkle of melted cheese on top was great.
