Sleeper hit in Sonoma, seriously go/drink/buy! I often worry about wines not hitting the same way once home, and nope, the Trousseau was even more mind bogglingly delicious than I remembered. I brought the Cab Sav to a Nor Cal focused wine tasting and it was the crowd favorite of the night.

Beautiful unmolested wines.

One of our local favorites, a short walk from downtown Healdsburg. Rootdown shares space with Leo Steen, and tastings can either include wines from both wineries or focus on the individual wineries. Indoor and outdoor spaces are easygoing and comfortable. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, excellent wines, including mostly varietals that are not the "usual suspects" (i.e., cab, zin, chard, pinot, etc.). You can bring food to accompany, on weekends there may be a coffee cart with pastries, and during summer months, they have "first Friday" evening live music with catered food for purchase.

Had a private tasting with Jill, and it was awesome! We got to try a BUNCH of different wines which were all delicious, and the winemaker even hand delivered a bottle of a new vintage just for us to try! Ended up leaving with a whole case. Definitely recommend this extremely chill winery run by very nice, laid back people. :)

We wanted to do a tasting but couldn't come during their normal hours. Mike and Jill went out of their way to accommodate us. On top of that, they gave us lots of recommendations for things to do, where to eat and where to hike. We can't wait to visit them again!

We had a tasting here, the wines are unique and enjoyable. I'm looking forward to pairing some meals this week with the wines that we purchased.

Best wine. Best people. Such a fun time! Highly recommend Rootdown Wines anytime, all the time!

Excellent wine, light and bright in style. Unique varietals for the area - Trousseau, Sangiovese, Pinot Blanc, etc. They also sell their brands Cole Ranch Wines, and Es Okay. So, it's like a 3 in 1 winery. Tastings are by appointment.

Great way to start my day!Not only do I love the wines here, now they have coffee cart, so I can smoothly transition from my oat milk lattes to afternoon whites!

Wonderful tasting room - great space and the wine is delicious. It’s like three tasting rooms in one as all of their labels are featured - Rootdown, Cole Ranch and Es Okay. My personal favorites are the Rootdown Mourvèdre, Cole Ranch Riesling and my number one pick - the Es Okay Pinot Gris. All easy drinking but very interesting wines. Highly recommend!

My husband and I have been longtime fans of Mike and Rootdown, and we were so excited to hear that there's now a more "official" tasting space for his wines. We were psyched to try the new Cole Ranch stuff too! The space is open and airy, and casual. Perfect daytime retreat for an hour, or weekend lounging stop in beautiful wine country!

My wife and I have been members of a dozen wineries and have been to wineries all through California in the world. Rootdown is one of our all-time favorites. The people are incredible, the wine is delicious, fun and interesting. The whole atmosphere is awesome. We always have so much fun over there, they really find a way to create a beautiful community. We highly recommend a stop at Rootdown, obviously try everything, and definitely take home some of the Grenache Blanc.
