My review is based on a to go order only. First of all, I have lived in Hercules for 13 years and am embarrassed to say I had never eaten at this restaurant! I really don't know why... anyway so yesterday m daughter and I wanted a late lunch, we saw that this restaurant closes between 3pm and 4pm. It was 2:50pm but we thought we would take a chance and am so happy we did! We were greet immediately and the staff gave us no indication that they were about to close. They were very nice and accommodating. There were at least 3 other groups of people still dining at that time. Our orders were ready in record time. I had the Egg plant fried tofu and green bean dish which was very very good! Along with a small hot and sour soup, no pics to share, but I was very happy with my food and will be back soon!

Originally from S.F. but evrytime I come out to Hercules & I stop by, they never disappoint ! And that's for every dish. 5 plus stars and beyond. I love it here. Sweet & Sour fish w/ fried rice is my favorite, ordered pot stickers, veggie tofu, egg foo young shrimp, and full plate of chow main. Generous portions and piping hot food. Came up to $70. That's a steal !!!

Recommended dishes: Fried Rice, Pot Sticker, Chow Mein, Sweet and Sour Chicken

It's the Lunar New Year and Chinese families always try to gather and share a meal. The craziness of overbooked restaurants and overwhelmed staff taught us many years ago that it was much more relaxing to celebrate a week ahead of time and avoid the crowds. Whenever we can, we'll get together the week before. I wanted some place somewhat out of the way, with good food and easy parking. I had seen Dragon Terrace years before and had filed them in the back of my mind. When asked to choose a restaurant this year, I checked with Yelp and saw that they had been able to maintain a decent score. The menu looked okay with the exception of not offering live crab or lobster. At least they had live fish. Serving a whole fish at the table represents the end of the old year and the beginning of the new year. Chinese people have a lot of superstitions and traditions. We arrived just past 5pm. The restaurant was already busy with guests. We were lucky to get one of the two remaining large tables for our group of six. The first thing I asked was what kind of live fish they had, and of course, they didn't have any. That wasn't the best start, but we'd get over it. Seafood Won Ton Soup (Large) - 4 - It was indeed a large bowl of soup with an assortment of seafood and plenty of wonton to go around. Peking Roast Duck - 3 - The duck was fine, but it was not a true Peking Duck. The skin wasn't super crispy, and the meat had not been sliced off of the bone at the table. The serving style was more reminiscent of Roast Duck served with buns. Not terrible, just not what we were looking for. Fried Pork Stuffed Eggplant - 4 - Fresh, firm and flavorful. House Special Pan-Fried Noodles - 5 - Crispy noodles loaded with proteins, veg and gravy. Yum! Salted Fish Steamed Pork Pattie - 4 - Almost as good as grandma used to make. My dad took a large portion, so that's a good thing. The only thing missing was water chestnuts and chopped dried shiitake mushrooms. Rock Cod and Bean Curd Clay Pot - 5 - Possibly my favorite dish of the night. What can I say? I was looking forward to some fish. Glazed Walnut Prawns - 4 - Nice fat bouncy prawns, crispy sweet with walnuts. Beef with Green Beans - 4 - We actually tried to order Beef with Asparagus but unfortunately, they didn't have any. The greens beans were good. All in all, a pretty good meal. We would certainly return for future meals. The convenience of the parking lot combined with the variety of the menu makes it a winner. The lack of live fish, while disappointing, is becoming more common post-COVID. It's a shame that they didn't have live crab since we're right in the middle of crab season right now. Service was very good and accommodating.

This place been here for over 30 years. The original restaurant was in Oakland's Chinatown back in the 80's&90's under the same name. They opened a 2nd location here in Hercules in the late 80's as the town was starting to grow and the need for food establishments became necessary. Eventually they closed their Oakland location down and concentrated on this establishment. There are always patrons inside eating. Especially during the lunch hours. Can't go wrong with the lunch specials. Definitely nice to have a Chinese take out close to the crib and extra nice that it's hella good.

This review is for takeout only and for Tomato Beef Chow Mein and Beef Chow Fun only. This restaurant has been here for many years and we used to come here a lot a long time ago when we lived closer. I was here a few days ago in the shopping center and decided to try this restaurant again for takeout. I really wanted to like this place as I have liked it very much in the past, but was disappointed with their tomato beef chow mein and beef chow fun. Both the chow mein noodles and the chow noodles were starchy and sticky as if they did not rinse the extra starch off the noodles after they cooked them. They were just OK quality, but I've had better. I was disappointed in the beef in both dishes, the beef was tough and stringy. I give two stars for the chow mein and chow fun, but gave them the benefit of the doubt with three stars because the owners were very nice, I haven't tried the other dishes so it wouldn't be fair for me to judge them on only two takeout dishes. I'll try them again another time and get something else.

Walking by countless times, I'd always wondered about this restaurant as I would see empty tables and somehow it survived Covid. This is definitely Hercules hidden gem. I was craving beef chow fun and no disappointment here. Portion and taste was good. Will be coming back.

This is the best and one of the few Chinese restaurants in the area. I go there once a week. The salt and pepper ribs and hot and sour soup

Food was good! Wanted to try some Roasted Duck Noodle that was closer to home and it did not disappoint. For the Roasted Duck Over Rice, the sauce was a bit salty and was under the rice but good nonetheless, it matched the meal. For the soup, they didn't have duck sauce but it was still delicious. As for the Honey Walnut Shrimp, it always does justice. So so good! The customer service wasn't horrible but wasn't the best. They forgot to give us water while already giving our dishes out. Had to constantly wave them down for water refills and more napkins. The workers were very friendly! Just needed to be more attentive.

First of all I usually don't write reviews, but after leaving here tonight I decided too. As I was waiting for my order, there was a older lady in line before me, ( probably mid seventies) and after placing her order, ( and spending eighty five dollors, ) she sat down, and five minutes later she asked the lady behind the counter how long before her order would be ready, the lady screamed at her and said you just ordered five ago! It's not ready! You have to wait! And stormed off to the back. I could believe she talked to a customer that way, plus thier food over priced and not even that good. I won't be coming back here again.

My friend and I decided to eat here by chance. The space is nicely put together and set up a bit impressive as you get in. It doesn't look like your ordinary hole in the wall chinese restaurant. My friend and I were glad we came. We had their set menu for dinner which was about $17 per person that came with hot & sour soup, shrimp and crispy cracker appetizers, shrimp fried rice, Mongolian beef and sweet & sour pork -- we loved every bite! ! Soup had lots of tofu and very filling, fried rice was mildly flavored which was perfect - not much salt and soy sauce, the beef was tender, pork was crispy, perfectly drizzled with sweet & sour sauce and fresh vegetables. Service was prompt & friendly. Although the place was a bit busy, our male server and the lady at the desk managed to exchange pleasantries with us. My friend's family live in Hercules, she couldn't wait to tell them about this place. I'd definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Great food, large menu, generous portions. The service here is kind, friendly and helpful. It's usually not busy or loud, so it's easy to make conversation.

We ordered food to go- the beef broccoli, wonton soup, porkchops and the combination rice. Unfortunately, we found all the dishes to be bland which was a disappointment.

The food and service was terrible. The food was very greasy, flavorless, shrimp were not deveined, and I had shrimp shells in my rice. I was not offered any water or anything to drink. Menu prices also did not match online prices. Very disappointing.
