Food wasn’t as good as the reviews made it seem like. Our service was not good, our waiter forgot we needed stuff and rarely came up to check on us. I was really looking forward to this place and we were let down

I'm Italian. Outside of Mom's cooking, when people ask where to go for great Italian food, I tell them Mazara.

It has such a cozy, intimate setting. Laura, the co-owner, is the warmest host you'll ever meet.

Laura's brother, Gino, is co-owner and head chef. He's exceptional and consistent at his craft.

This Valentine's Day, my partner had the Shrimp with Linguini. To dine with me, is to give me a taste ;) The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauce was big in flavor. I got the tenderloin medallions, perfectly cooked. The veggies were the perfect bite as well, and the potatoes delicious.

We don't often get dessert when we eat out, but I had just seen our neighbor cut through the cheesecake with a fork. I could see the light consistency and had to try it. We shared that and loved it! I was pleasantly surprised to hear that Gino made that too. Dessert is it's own art and science apart from cooking, so I appreciate Gino's mastery in both.

Do not go here...Please stay away because if you do show up then I will not get a table and yes, I am more important than you are...That being said this place is absolute 100% perfect. Try to not look at the menu and let them surprise you with a dish. Never fails for me. Again do not go here you will be ruined for other Italian Cucina forever

This was such a lovely italian spot! Orders and checks hand written, food was delicious and filling. We actually met and spoke with the owner who was such a delight. She mentioned having been slower as of recent (which shocked us!) and appreciating our business as a party of 9. This small place was so delicious and such good quality and service, could not recommend more!

Absolutely amazing experience tonight! If you’re looking for a great meal with exceptional service and authentic flavors, this is the spot. It’s one of those hidden gems you only know about if someone lets you in on the secret — and once you do, you’ll want to bring your favorite people here for a special meal.

The veal Marsala was mmm mmm mmm perfection, and the cheesecake… hands down the best I’ve ever had (and I really, really love cheesecake!). I didn’t even stop to take pictures because I was too busy enjoying every bite.

Small family-owned casual sit-down Italian restaurant. Owner Laura was friendly and checked on us a few times and Sofia provided great service. The pasta and sauces we had were delicious, although the meat in my dish was a bit under flavored, even in the sauce. Homemade tiramisu was creamy and light. We look forward to going back and trying other dishes on the menu.

Outstanding! In my opinion the best Italian restaurant in OC!
The Branzino and lobster ravioli were amazing, and the lobster bisque was the best we've ever had!

I don’t usually like going to an Italian restaurant because my mom cooks better than where we go. However Saturday night she wanted to go to Mazara for her birthday and I was blown away. The service was excellent. The owner came by to ask what we thought of the meal. The food was delicious. I had one of the specials-braised short rib in a balsamic reduction with Fettuccine noodles. My brother had chicken Parmesan. The kids had cheese ravioli, and my mom had Seabass and seasoned vegetables. Dessert, crème brûlée and tiramisu. Absolutely Devine. I think this is my new favorite place.

When I first came in the prices seemed a little high. However the environment was so welcoming and the service was impeccable Connor was very polite and continued to check on us. Laura was also very attentive visiting every table greeting all the customers as if they were family. Not to mention the food we delicious and came out piping hot. My son burned his tongue on his Risotto and Laura came straight to our table to check on him. I will be delighted to spend my money here. This restaurant is definitely a gem.
