Best sushi in town! Friendly staff too. The owner is an awesome guy and a master of his craft. Check it out!
Best Sushi ever, Big John is a great guy and an excellent chef! Great atmosphere, lots of regular’s. Try ordering an earthquake also known as a Doug roll! He’s going to hate me for that one! Ha ha
Love the sushi chef/owner, John and long time waitress, Kim. Always friendly no matter how busy.
The lady that answers the phone the one that serves you is sooooooooo rude . I’m done going there she yells at everyone. Soooooo over her mouth. The owner is the one making the sushi he is nice . But to let her treat people the way she does is just wrong !!!!!! I’m telling all my friends to stop going . No one wants to be yelled at !!!

I just had an amazing experience here. I'm relatively new to sushi, just checking out the local restaurants near my apartment.
I showed up at around 5:30pm after opening and ordered a few different things at the bar. I was the only person there and got to talking with the sushi chef, who was incredibly friendly, honest, and welcoming. They taught me how to do everything without it being uncomfortable at all, even down to the beer recommendation. The food was of course delicious, tasted quite fresh, and was prepared beautifully.
I learned that the place has dedicated regularly customers, which it remains faithful to - apparently the restaurant has been here since 1984 (or was it '82?).
Easy recommend.

Great restaurant! Google says they are open Saturday but it looks like they may have hours wrong. Fantastic when they are open though!
Hidden Gem in HB - Delicious sushi at this small cozy spot in a strip mall
This is a small family run operation, the sushi chef is a nice older gentleman who magically produces delicious sushi. We found this place by accident and are so glad we did, it’s easily the beat sushi spot in the neighborhood.
They have a salmon over Cali roll that heavenly!
This is our new go to spot.
Must try:
Scallops sushi, salmon sushi!
1) Jeff roll (yellowtail over spicy tuna with a slice of garlic)
2) zero cut roll (assorted sushi over spicy tuna wrapped in Cali no-rice)
Then place is chill with a Japanese rock n roll vibe

Freshest fish. I have found this side of Hawaii! It is my go-to for sushi. Good prices and service. Evenings can get a little boisterous with music and fun. Love to come here for lunch or an early dinner.

The server/ owner lady is a whole other level of rude and bizarre. First and last time my family and I will go. Unless you want to be yelled at, made feel ashamed for not ordering enough, your kid to be afraid and your plates moved around mid bite by the control freak maniac "waitress" avoid this place like the plague. I feel bad for the cook in the back having to put up with a drunk boss, so unprofessional.

Saturday dinner Labor Day weekend at my friendly neighborhood Sushi Joint Shogun Japanese Restaurant
Super HB roll, salmon nigiri, yellow tail nigiri, and an Asahi
John always makes great sushi! And Kim is always talking me into ordering more rolls than I can eat. ?
I went for a chicken teriyaki and steak teriyaki plate and I was highly disappointed. Definitely tasted like it was warmed up from the prior day.

While visiting my family here, we have had the other two sushi places before and finally tried this one and man, it was SO GOOD! The sushi was so fresh and tasty. The service was great, it felt we were very welcomed and the server was so helpful with the choices. Good music and the chef was dancing while rolling sushi and it was just a fun experience. There were some regulars, that's how I know the place is amazing and gives you that family vibe. Also, it was getting packed. We are absolutely coming back here!!

worst experience ever. Walked out. Yelled at my friend for ordering a salad before sushi because he can’t make money. Sushi looked sloppy and they were rude as hell. Wouldn’t even do a togo order. 빌어 먹을 개새끼
