I was visiting a friend from out of town last night and she took me to this bar and we were having a good time and then the security guard came by yelled that we had 15 minutes left and SNATCHED my beer out of my hand. I had like 2/3 left of it and wasn’t going to linger when we got the last call warning. Normally when that happens I would chug the rest of my drink and then head out considering I paid for the drink but this bouncer didn’t give me that opportunity. He just said “no, you need to get out now.” It was my first and only drink at this bar and I could understand if I was too drunk and getting kicked out but I was not even buzzed at that point and just wanting to have one last drink before we called it quits for the night and went home. That bouncer was very rude and it was totally uncalled for. I was super excited to go here because my friend had been hyping it up and it just left a bad impression.

Great venue. Right on the beach. Has inside bar area and great outdoor patio. Knocked off 1 star because the drinks are pretty weak. $9 for a tito cranberry in a small glass with a 3 count pour. They could suffer to be a tad more generous with the booze at a dive bar.
Ye ol plank has always been a go to spot in imperial Beach for me until today, Jay has always made good drinks (partially why we come here) tonight was a different story, first 2 drinks me and gf had were good (made by jay), but after the next 2 were horribly made by owners son I ask about the drinks and get told if I can't taste the alcohol I have a drinking problem. Somebody else tried my drink and said the exact same thing taste like straight coke so we ended up closing up and left, and ended up leaving the drink on the counter after that rude comment.

Nah yeah the male bartenders are horrible and racist. I got there one night and waited for my turn to get service and I was finally next and this white lady already drunk walks up and the white guy saw me being up next, but he chose to attend the lady. Luckily I didn’t have the need to waste a penny there. Took my money somewhere else. Shame for a nice place but those bartenders clearly are close with the owner or something like that cause the response I see from the owner on these bad reviews is ridiculous.
