Joy - Asian Cuisine offers a warm and lively atmosphere with a wide variety of dishes, from lunch specials to dinner. The service is attentive, with the hostess, waitstaff, and manager making an effort to ensure a good experience. Some dishes, like the combination dish, may not be perfect, but the lobster and mooshu Pork are outstanding. Appetizers such as Har Kau and coconut chicken soup are also highlights. The lunch portion specials include generous servings of dishes like Kung Pao Chicken, Spicy Chicken with Basil, and Szechuan Pork with Mushrooms, served with salad, egg roll, and fried rice. The restaurant offers affordable prices that provide great value. Although the place can get very busy, especially in the evening with loud kids and larger parties, the food remains good and made to order. Occasionally, service may seem overwhelmed, and the noise level can be high, but overall, many find Joy to be the best Chinese restaurant in the valley. Some customers have noted that the lighting is a bit too low, affecting the overall ambiance. Despite these minor issues, visitors often enjoy wonderful food and attentive service, making it a popular spot for casual dining. Guests have praised the food as delicious and plentiful, with excellent servers like Yvonne and Bella being very attentive, kind, and efficient. Even during busy times, the staff manages to serve well, and the large portions and reasonable prices make it a great value. Some diners mentioned that the service can be a little slow and that they were talked into a different order with an upcharge without prior notice, though the food remains excellent. Many people have finally found good Chinese and other Asian food in the Coachella Valley and plan to return often.
